na i dont think you should get a joystick just shoot before putting the cursor on the plane like when you think you might pass it or what not just shoot before it or if its right in front of you it should be easy.

Always remember that bullets fly slow in bf1942....so shoot in front of what you wanna hit. When flying, its a matter of getting properly in position behind the other plane. You'll find you deal the most damage when shooting on it from above, say if its turning.

Yes, wait for your target to stop moving, or start moving in a direction that is coming at or away from you. For some reason it seems to be really hard to hit a moving target at extreme range. It is even worse in mods, I think because they don't have the scope jiggle animation. I have had my sights centered on a stationary target without hitting it once in five shots.

Hey bro I had same prob. when flying..looked like to me there planes were going slower than mine...l had a keybord and mouse what l found out was that a joy stick has a lil speed controler on it so you can controll the speed not just wide open or stop..finding that out may help you decide if you want one ..l do.....later pie.

I don't fly with joystick, it doesn't move the plane fast enough. The mouse is a lot more accurate.
