I got the Msi 6600GT at first when i got it i wasn't too impressed but when i got my new powersupply everything changed. I an now set everything to high and it runs great so yeah, dont worry it runs amazingly well with with BF2 even though it sais its not supported. :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows:

dont do it the 6600 /6600gt is CRAP , yes yes l own one and fx5600 and 4200ti, and 7800gtx, bla bla and ati 800 pro / xtpe/ xt one of each and l have tested all of these cards and one of the worst is the 6600 if you really like the card get 256 meg version, bf2 will not like you for it though, and all these people that say oh l run it full or close tto full/max settings are BULLSH@TERS, its just not possible for that card to draw the amount of pixles needed for a 40fps smooth game under extreem intence conditions, like bf2 can be, overall 6600 cards are old and by GAMERS standards fu@@en lame, do YOURSELF a favour and look at a newer card, they just aint up to scratch. l can see ppl replying , mine works fine on full settings, but can you record some of that ingame action and prove it ? useing FRAPS ? l can and at record 40 fps, NO 6600 will ever even dream of that, on top of all that the more RAM you have the less workload on video card and the higher the texturesettings can be. For battlefield 2 l would not buy ANYTHING under an x800pro spec, you are missing the awsome detail of bf2 if you do period. aa / af / triline..etc etc.. For battlefield 2 to look fu@@@en awsome get a 7800 gt or gtx.

It's a good card and will run it on high, I run everything on medium with it though but that's because my cpu is crap and I rather have more fps than slightly better looking models.

Not even going to read that "thing" above my post.

Splat you know you are acting kinda stupid right? There have been many questionable issues regarding the 6600 and 6800. Im one who runs a 6800 GT. Now before Red Faction's exe name fix I could hardly run the game on MEDIUM can get 30 FPS now I run it on high and get 40-50 FPS. The 6600s have proven that they can run it as well on high. Oh and that crap that your spouting of actually recording with fraps to get proof on FPS is kinda stupid. Just think about how much fraps takes out of your system. Hell I get 15 FPS when I run fraps on SCCT Versus mode! And that is using a very Outdated Unreal engine (Unreal Combat or something). Recording with fraps would never give you an accurate concept of FPS. Mabey benchmarking now but not recording.

Sorry if I sound harsh but you pop yourself in and start spouting out that who ever is running BF2 on high with a 6600 is a liar? I mean what is that?

Not to mention the 6600 series is not considered seriously old. the order of Nvidia SERIES are 7800(GT/GTX),6800(Ultra,GT,Normal),6600(Ultra?,GT,Normal) if the 6600 is the third in the line I would say its pretty good.

i have a leadtek 6600gt AGP 128mb overclocked to 568/1800, an amd dtr 3200+ at 2.4GHz, 2gigs of memory, and 2 raptors in raid0, and i get between 25-50fps in bf2, all settings on high except textures on medium, 4x AA, 4XAF (forced thru nvidia's control panel)

6600gt is a great card. i'd spring for a 6800/6800gt tho if i was gonna buy today, they're only about $50 more
