I happen to really like BF2, its awsome once u find a cool sqaud. However one thing still really bugs and gripes me. Its the way u can take any control point on the map with 1 man.

Example: So there you are at strike at karkland, fiercley pushing back the americans with all u got, MGs, Anti tank, C4 ect. But then out of the blue on of ur flags pops into an american one right at ur back base because some little prik parachuted from a blackhawk or whatever and took it over. Now the cool front line is over and its randome spawn points everywhere and a meer frag fest.

I suggest this. U can only take spawn points u alrdy have a link to. For example, in karkland u can take the top 1 closest to american base to start off with. When u take that, u have to move onto the next 2 down, but still cant take ones all the way at the back of the map. This way it would create a real frontline of fighting as u battle to create another link to another control point as u push ur way throught the map.

What do u reckon?

I reckon they call that the "push" style in Desert Combat, and I think they had a similar mode in Forgotten Hope. It would be a welcome addition, but we'll probably will have to wait for a mod to see it.

Couldn't agree more. Give us CTF, push maps, Assault/defend maps (TFC style) and Jailbreak maps. Linked points would be great (UT2004 onslaught style) or even force there to be more than one player present to be required to cap a point unless he was the only man left alive (DoD syle). EA and Dice don't think things through.

that idea you talk about is the also the main game type in Joint Ops, you have say 8 PSP's in the map, you own 3 and your enemy owns 3 adn there are 2 netural ready to take over but you must take the one closer to your base before moving on to the next one

Well, if its already come on and is available, then for the life of me i dont understand why dice and EA didn't make it available in BF2

its a gud idea for sum and perhaps sum1 will make a mod with push mode. But for me, i see taking a top point and surrounding your enemy as good tactics, or bad defense of points by the other team. Especially wen uav, scan and artillery are available.

But you have to admit that noone that wants to have a good time is just going to sit at a back base and guard. Plus that limits the number of players to defend from the frontline onslaught. Push is what is needed, and it's twice as fun as regular conquest.

It's a good idea, but some people... will... 'suck' on it.

What about in clan battles, sometimes you have to flank the enemy by taking the command post behind their line so you can have a sandwich effect, the enemy never knows where the bullets are comming from. I understand what you are saying but there is strategy behind taking the command post without waiting to take the one infront of it.
