the f15 in bf2 were used as a bomber and the fa18 is used for air combat it is me or does every one feel that ea have kind of screw up~ dont the f15 was created to do air comabt and the fa18 is used as fighting and attack plane. also i would like to pt out~~~ that is kind of unfair that mec and pla only have 2 plane and the usmc have different variety of plane even it just the same ~ and they should put more kind of different heli in there~~~ like the little bird~~~ and the small yellow heli used on opposition in DC. there also have a problem on AA~~ i remeber when i played DC i have no trouble to shot down a plane... but in bf2 the only way i find to shot down a plane is to get in a plane and dog fight him~~ agains noob i stand a chance but agains pro =_= i will get own so bad and i can help my team to AA~~~ i think they should at least issuse some AA weapon instead of a sorry A#$ stinger which can only used up agaisnt heli~~~ at least a AA gun would help~~~ one more thing~~~ TV guilded missle own~~ but laser guilder missle on f15 and su34 suck~~~ u couldnt get a lock on easy~~ thx you all for reading this and i m sorry for the grammer ~~~ since i m a fob~~ i cant write good but i will do my best to learn to become a good writer thx you all :bows:
btw~~~ i think they should have the same thing as BFV~~~ air lifting~~~ from heli i love that from BFV~~ so much
also~~~my account name is [usbc]Sky_captain~~~ if u r a noob~~~ stay out of my heli~~~ i dont need a noob gunner who wouldnt fire his weapon when given the perfect spot to shot your TV missle~~~ and to use your gun to chop down those footman~~~ god i hate noob~~~ i also hate noob pilot who wouldnt give me a tv missle chance there is only one good game i played in heli~~~ which i have this super pro heli pilot who was flying and i m the gunner~~~ we destroyed every single tank and heli we find~~~ with only one TV guilded missle~~~ the feeling is good~~ but i cant find that person to play with again =_="
Well the F-15 in this game is an F-15E Strike Eagle. I can tell this because I spent 10 years in the US Airforce as a weapons loader. I spent 3 and a half working on Stike Eagles. The conformal fule tanks (CFTs) and the second seat are a dead give away. Also the weapons configuration in the game is COMPLEETLY AND TOTALY IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets start with the wings. Those TV guided missles could NEVER EVER IN ANY WAY go up there above the fule tanks. Only AIM-9s and AIM-120s can go there. Depending on the mission normally 120s on the outboard launchers and AIM-9s on the inboard. The TV guided missiles could go on the wing pylons but only 2 on each side on a LAU-88 launcher (I think its a LAU-88 its been a long time). On the fusalage you also see 4 air to air missiles... ALSO NOT POSSIBLE!!! Those missiles are AIM-9s it looks like they are L/M versions. IF there are missiles put on the CFTs then they must be AIM-7s or AIM-120s. Then there are the 3 bombs, any yes you guessed wrong. This is possible but you will almost never see it happen. In testing of the jet before being a part of the active Airforce this was found to be impratical and unnessary due to each of the CFTs haveing 6 stations. Now 5 bombs is possible and could be used in a war time loadout. except there would be 4 on the CFT stations and one on the centerline pylon. What I find odd about all this is that EA was the publisher for the Janes series of simulations. The did a fantastic game called Janes: F-15. It even used some of the tail numbers I worked on. It was painfully correct. a great game. Why would EA make such a glareing mistake. Because they rushed out a beta game for us all to muddle through. Now lets get on with the SU-34. It can out manuver anything in the game practly. I know for a fact that the Strike Eagle is capable of takeing a SU-34. If you want to complain about a aircraft. Then complain about that one. Its too much. It can even out fly the F-38JSTF. Thats really crap. Other than that I think that the jets are fine. Xenocide.

Not everyone takes the game as serious as you do ...There are clans patterened after the military that do not take the game as serious as you do .......go outside. pick up a frisbee. Play some hacky sack .....run a lap ...swim a mile. Go yell at some people in a downtown pub ..then come back and play this game and tell me you care about what the plane looks like. and how many whosawhatits goes with what on a trampolene with a zebra underneath it. you take the game too seriously ....shoot your missles ..fire your machine gun ...crash your plane into a tank and have fun for crying out loud. next thing you are going to tell me is you are angry that flying over your base recharges your amunition. and that isn't real, and can't be done. oh well.
I would die without GF

Yes EA is the publisher, but DICE is the game developer. With Jane's, EA was the publisher but Janes Combat Simulations was the developer. Unfortunately EA purchased Janes, and Janes is now history, the support site having been closed so that more effort could be put into the EA developed flight sims, you are now re-directed to EA game website which has no info at all on Janes.
Janes Combat Simulations, as the name indicates, is/was a flight SIM Developer, and if you describe a game as a flight SIM it better be damn near identical to the real thing or there'll be trouble. BF2, on the other hand, is advertised as an arcade combat game, weapon loadouts, vehicle charecteristics, weapon effectiveness, are all tweaked for FUN. Nobody would fly jets on the MEC side if every time they got into the air in a jet they were shot down by an F18 from 20 miles away the moment they left the ground.
The bottom line is, if you want a flight Sim, buy a flight sim, if you want a fun FPS, buy BF2!
Well I take the game to seriously. No not really. If I did I would be mentioning all the other glareing mistakes in the game. I feel very personal when it comes to the correctness of some things. I have a special place in my heart for the Strike Eagle. It is very important to me that some things are gotten right thats all. I also wanted the orrginal poster to know that the F-15 in the game is a bomber. And being a place to rant and rave I went off on how they screwed it up. I have a copy of Janes: F-15 and its a bit to much. I am not that dedicated to flight simulators. I love the flight model for BF2. I think its probably one of the things they got right. I just felt that if your going to model something you should at least try and get it right. Thats all.
thx man~~~ now i learn something new ^o^~~~ but can u also tell me about f18? and what are it for? i m kind of a nerb dumbo that want to know everything ^o^

AOIXenocideI just felt that if your going to model something you should at least try and get it right. Thats all.
Fair point mate, and we could say that about other stuff in the game but at the end of the day it doesn't make a balanced game, and would make it too unfair to the other non US sides, or vice versa.
Agent_orange: I guess I don't mean tweek it up or turn it down. I guess I just want to see it modeled correctly. It can stay put as is power wise but lets at least make it atomicaly correct. (or how ever thats spelled) Ice Cokey: The F-18 was built for the Navy to replace the F-14 tomcat. It was also developed as a multi-role fighter. It has good air to air capabilities and is a decent bomber from what I here. normally its carrier launched and not Ground based but they made exceptions for this game I guess being they used a short deck carrier insted of a full sized one. So it takes on the Air to Air role in the game. Not much of a strech but if you had added say the new F-22 we get into balance problems like Agent mentioned. I was even a little worried about the F-38 a bit but they did I good job. I think they did anyway. Its the SUU-34 that gets me. Sure its a good plane but Wow. it can sure make things tough in the air. I don't know maybe I am just that bad but in the hands of a competant pilot It could be all most invincible. Unless a Phalanx system or one of the ground based AA tanks gets a lock. Both of thoes items can really make your sortie short in a hurrry
cool~~~ thx a lot~~~ so is the us air force gonna use f 22 too~~~ i was worries that they will use f 35 instead of f 22 =_=" i love f 22~~~ and the new mig that have invest wing(btw what that call?)
