Hey guys, I was playing BF2 the other day and it started to bother me. Is it just me or is the Battlefield series losing its original enjoyment? The more and more advanced the weapons become, I think it losing the personal PvP touch it used to have. In BF1942, things were not as accurate, you needed to actually fight the other players. It just seems that as we get more advanced, it becomes less of a personal struggle and more of a "whos better at using the tech" type of game. I miss the days when a plane was actually feared and not an annoyance, and where a tank was powerful, but you still had to atleast be able to see it gefore it could shoot you.
I dunno, I may be way off on this one, but I just kind of miss the flavor of BF1942. Especially with 2142 coming up, it looks like those days are just over?
of course its not going to be as fun as it used to be because the original kind of set the ground for this game, and the gameplay formula was entirely new. Now its just the same game with better graphics, physics, and technology.
i still think its fun. Just all the dam bugs and making it work which annoys me
Yeah some times it sucks when a helicopter shoots a tv missle 9 miles away and then all of a sudden it hits me.
Indeed i dont have very much fun playing bf2 anymore unless i play with people i know, but i always enjoy 1942 still

I agree, its not that they are doing anything wrong, its just that its not really all that fun?!
oh well lets see what FH2 is going to be like...

Ditto man, I only play bf2 if I want to fool around or play with my friend from Real life.

Ironically, this is almost exactly what happened in real life. Gone are the days when you had to physicially stick pointy metal objects in someone to kill them, now you merely pull a trigger and some few hundred metres in front of you a form crumples to the floor. Even air to air combat is less personal. In WW1 days it was essentiallya duel, with each pilot shooting the other pilot with his revolver while flying his plane perilously close and parallel to his opponents plane, while today you have over the horizon air to air missiles. Of course there are still horrors of war, and I am oversimplifying it alot, but on the whole warfare has become a lot less personal.
