ok i found a bug in bf2 that is starting to $%$£ me off, every time i lay down next to any object tree, wall, rock, ect ect i cant stand back up. i found the only way to get back up is to move away from the object then stand up. has any 1 else come acros this, i wonder if ea should sort this out in a patch.

Hmm, after reading this I went and tested it, not having noticed it myself. I tried with trees, small buildings, stone walls, but I couldn't reproduce the problem, however it may be to do with something specific, your class, weapon or etc, so next time it happens make a note of what class you are and what weapon you are carrying at the time, even on which map and exactly where you are so I can get everything as close as possible to the same.

I've noticed it and can replicate it easy and it's not a bug. It depends on which rock and on which face of said rock. Same can be said about trees, crates, etc. What's happening is that your model is crouching (or lying prone) near a slight overhang, even if it looks like there's barely anything there (a part of the rock, tree, crate, etc). And when you move, you may actually be moving yourself underneath that overhang, so when you try to stand again, you can't. You have to first move yourself away from that slight overhang. The part that can be annoying is when you think you've cleared it (can actually see the obstruction in your view) but still can't get up. Just move a bit more and you'll be fine. Know that this can happen, especially around which styles of overhangs, and don't let yourself get into a bind (i.e. caught in a position where you have to get up and run, such as during an arty strike). Keep in mind, however, that little overhang can save your life. If someone is above and behind you, for instance higher up on a hill, and is trying to shoot down onto your head, that little overhang just might be preventing some of those shots from hitting you. The space the overhang takes is actually a little bit more than what it appears (ever try to shoot over a wall, around a corner, or a tree, your site is clear of the edge, yet your bullets keep hitting the edge of the tree or wall?).

Thats not a bug, you are just blocked by something above you (tree branches/rock overhang/ man-made stuff). Jeez

Yup, on Dragon Valley 32, the AA gun on the hill flag next to US main is bugged like that. If you get in, you can't get out... but sometimes turning the gun in a certain direction lets you get out
