Hey, I just had to start a 2nd thread about this topic... I certainly enjoy playing as a sniper in any game, the joy of killing people from far distances before they know what hit them... but why why why is the sniper rifle (at least for the demo/US team) not as great/ineffective? It took me at least 4 shots to actuall kill someone, and they were stationary, I aimed directly at them and it was useless... I was lying prone and everything, I just couldnt pull off as many kills as I would have liked to... does anyone have similar experiences? Maybe in the game or in the other armies, the sniper rifle is diff but i just want to see what you guys have to say :uhm:

I don't normally snipe so I don't know but people have told me you have to aim above your targe at large range. Sniping is something that should take skill, spend more time with it before you make a thread about it.

Bullets travel at an arch, due to gravity. The farther they are away the higher you have to aim to get a headshot. Its all about feel, and its basically the same as BF1942 in the distnace sense. If they are really far away, aim ABOVE the head or at the tip-top of their helmet.

Well, actually, I was right next to an enemy and I shoot him right in the head/chest while I was lieing down. He was running towards me so I got a perfect shot, still didn't go down. :uhm:

Running hits are harder due to having to lead your target for lag and time it will take for the round to reach him. And, yes, they have had bullet arch since BF1942.

Are you sure? I never experienced any arch for any weapon in the unmodded game. Tanks of course were the exception. Hated it, so unrealistic, the trajectory...

The only games ive know to have bullet arch on sniper rifles is the joint ops games and the black hawk down series games.
