i have seen an increase in low rankers getting 2nd teir upgrades (like i saw a staff sergeant w/ an F2000, G36E and best sniper gun) he told me that it was a special forces bonus, for every special forces badge you get you get a new gun:naughty: can anyone tell me if this is true? if it is i am totally getting SF expansion:nodding:

well you do get new guns if you currently just have Vanilla bf2 then install SF you will get to unlock the guns depending on how high of a rank you are. the higher the rank the more guns.

Only ranks give unlocks, while badges, ribbons,... don't.

Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2: Special Forces both have special weapons unlocks that are granted to players whenever they earn specific ranks (the ranks which grant unlocks are identified in the UBAR – not every rank grants an unlock). With each unlock that you are granted, you are able to select any one (1) of the Battlefield 2 Unlocks listed below.

Special Forces Bonus – At each rank that grants unlocks, a bonus unlock is available for those who have played Battlefield 2: Special Forces. In other words, rather than receiving one (1) unlock at your promotion, you will receive two (2) unlocks. This bonus is retroactive, which means that whenever you play Special Forces, you will soon be granted the bonus unlocks for all previous ranks earned. By playing Special Forces, you are also eligible for the second tier of Battlefield 2: Special Forces Unlocks.

yeah the badges dont give unlocks. But I'm a staff seargent and i have two of the second teir unlock weapons, you get two unlocks per rank when you have SF. so you'd only need to rank up 3 times to get those weapons.

if you install the game (SF) after you already have Bf2 on, play one round in an SF server, and go to BFHQ, you WILL recieve your unlocks then
