Is BF2: Special Forces worth getting? I just wondered cuz I'm thinking about getting it. Is it any better that the regular BF2? Or does it suck?

in core bf2 if you try to pick the new weapons it will crash. but all together i think it's worth $30. also the new guns are pretty cool. but most of all i think the night vision and grapple hook are a very good add-on. and also the tear gas gun that's fun to shoot into a building full of enemy troops. :naughty:

I dont have it but I read a review.

It said that it's giving really bad performance compared to BF2. Buggy as hell. A lot less stationary Anti-air. Too few vehicles. Some gadgets that arent really used in war, hook graple.

I'm not getting it.

I personally say its worth getting. IMO the grappling hook and Ziplines add alot of new tactical gameplay and even the flashbangs are really useful because if you are surroundewd it gives you a chance to blind some people and sneak off. THe teargas is also alot of fun to play with but remeber everyone does carry a gasmask. SO if they see you shoot it it will have very little effect so its less of a combat weapon then a surprise disorientation weapon when ambushing someone. They did add new things like elevators and gates that you can use go up and down in which are really cool. But they are a little glitchy with movement becasue its about equal to standing on a mopving vehicle so when they are in motion moving around is a little awkward. THere are no real new unlocks per say but you are now allowed to unlock SF weapons for normal BF2 which are cool. THey are not all that diffrent they just look alot cooler and some have some better accuracy. I think that the flashbangs may also be unlockable since thats what I saw on the assault kit if you cycle through its unlocks it shows a flashbang but no FN2000 so actually I think that was a mistake.

Overall yes it is definately worth getting. But thats my opinion.

I think it is definatly worth it. The maps are so fun and different..offers some more urban combat new weapons, new chopper, some really good ideas. I have enjoyed it quite a bit. I played last night on a server and I could choose both sets of unlocked weapons...I guess it depends on your rank and points.

yes on normal BF2 if you unlock the assault rifle while playing BF2:SF you can use it (the F2000) in any normal BF2 game. Thats why there is a 280mb patch out. It gives all the new information and the models to the game.
