Evil_TimFor the one billionth time this has been repeated bf2 and all bf series games are built for fun not realism

For the one billionth +1 time, realism does not necessarily equal not fun. Look how much more realistic BF2 is than BF42 and BFV... I dont see much complaining.

You can't take realism too fare, look at DCR. How many people played that? Pirates mod got more people play then DCR.

I am an avid player of DCR, until the server was taken down because of frequent crashes in the latest version. Some people get their dopamine in different ways. Some people play games to experience another way of life, not as an escape from life.

I notice you said server singular. Sure you could make the game really realistic but how many people will want to play? DICE wants to make a game the whole community will enjoy not just 30-40 people.

Well, to be fair... I didnt mention realism in my original post. I think many times people get used to the way "things are" instead of seeing how fun a different way of doing things can be. To suggest to the average bf1942 player 3 years ago that they should listen to one man (a commander/squad leader, if you will), or requiring the player take a flag with other people to capture it in under a minute would be unheard of.

I have playing BF without a parachute. I think most people here have played if nothing else DC Lost Village nopara, so its not like the people who want to keep parachutes are people that have never tried playing the game without parachutes before.

What I would have liked to see(though not very efficient) would be a pilot class that actually gets some bonus to vehicles. Be it more accuracy or quicker cornering that sort of thing. Though they would be very light on the armor(like medics). I dont know what they would do for weaps(would need to be light like the anti armors MP5), but it would be neat and have that be the only class that has parachutes.

Wasn't there originally a pilot class that was automatically given to the player when they entered aircraft? A pity they didn't keep that idea...

It is kind of still in the game, it never changed your class it just changed what you look like (so you see a pilot flying an airplane instead of a infantry soldier.) If you look at a pilot of tank gunner in BF2 it does still change the players skin like they showed in the demo videos but now instead of the player keeping that skin when they leave their vehicle like they did in beta versions now they just go back to a normal soldier skin.
