vladtemplarThe aircraft carrier should have the steam catapult and the landing catch/hook. Pilots should HAVE to land to repair. Thats what happens in real life. The game was made way too arcadey. I was looking for more of a sim.

BF2 wasn't meant to be ultra realistic, if it were a sim game the games pace would be so slow and people would get board fast. And if it were realistic you would be complaining about getting killed by one shot from an assault rifle or two shots from a pistol, or how you couldn't bunny hop because you could only jump a foot and a half off the ground. Realistic type games especially First Person Shooters, would not do very well at all in a multiplayer environment.

psyichicseems though like the machine guns do much less damage than they did in 1942. they seems so weak.
Well, duh, THIS IS MODERN COMBAT! Do you think that MG's would be very powerful if you have missiles that lock on? BF1942's MG's were powerful because that was the only Air-to-air weapon planes had! so.gif
The aircraft carrier should have the steam catapult and the landing catch/hook. It's not supposed to be a sim, it's a First Person Shooter. Like Halo. Do you fly stuff in Halo? No. Not that I don't like Flight Sims, I love 'em, but the Battlefield series is supposed to be 'arcadey'. If you want a realistic sim, go play Pacific Fighters. Or wait for Forgotten Hope. yum.gif Sorry if I've offended anyone.

i cant disagree more. these unrealistic games about war give children an unrealistic expectation of ease about joining the military. i wish all of our soldiers could bunny hop with 70 pounds of equipment on, then there wouldnt be 1777 causualties in Iraq maybe. i think that atleast a realism mod should be made where 1 shot kills, or if u get shot in the leg, you cant run as fast. and hell u shuld have to land to repair and rearm. im tired of a ppl who rape u with thier bombing raids just as u cap a flag. in real life, the armies would have better targets to bomb, such as military hideouts. just my .02

Yes, BF2 has a delicate, yet very unperfected balance of realism and arcade play. A perfect example are Bunnyhoppers. Just how realistic a war tactic is that? Someone is shooting at you. You may know from where already, you may have to look around to find him. Either way, you start jumping up and down so he cant hit you until your ready to return fire or even while your shooting at him. Sound good for use in a real life combat situation? Your right Andrew, if our soldiers in Iraq could bunnyhop, there wouldnt be 1777 casualties. We wouldnt even be able to count how many would be injured or killed because of that.

I do agree there has to be something done to stop bunny hopping, maybe have a separate stamina bar or change the sprint bar they have now, because even though jumping takes away some of you're stamina it refills so fast that it doesn't matter, they need to have it use alot more stamina when you jump so that when you're low on stamina you can only jump once every 3-4 seconds.

You shouldn't be able to fire a weapon, reload, or anything while bunny hopping. If I can't fire my weapon in the game during a full sprint, then I shouldn't be able to while jumping.
