OK here goes, I D/L the BF2 Demo, and was quiet pleased with it except for a few little niggles, but first this is main question I D/Led the demo and gave a copy to my m8 as we are having a small 2 man LAN at the moment, of course 2 people is to small for BF2 so we were playing solo games, NOW here is the weird part he went in o the menu and checked the multiplayer option to join a LAN game and happen to find my solo game and he managed to join the game which i s great seeing as there is no ai for the mutliplayer map/s, but then after 4 round my game crashed and we havent been able to get that very nice BUG/GLITCH/FEATURE to occour since. Have any of you experienced this yet or are you all netplaying If you can help me out I will be greatful cheers Thyco1241 p.s my main gripe so far has been the fact that the m249 is too inaccurate, i know this due to the fact that i have fired the weapon in REAL LIFE on many occastions as i am a Aust Defence Member

Wonderful, now do it again and tell us all how you did it!

Seriously, I'm not joking, ppl have been complaining ever since they heard that co-op wasn't included and you have managed to do it by accident. A lot of ppl are going to be experimenting now so I hope you aren't joking :)

I heard somewhere that it may be possible to join someones solo mission if you knew the IP address. I think that thyco may have just worked out then un-worked out how to do it lol

ok here goes, i found this out at forum planet, havent tried it yet but will in about 1 hour
Do you have two computers and want to play against each other behind a router with bots. Easy fix. Have the first computer start a single player match. Write down the first computers IP address. On the second computer select multiplayer, then select join internet. In the center/middle box where it says "connet to IP' click that and enter the first computers IP address. You will then join the first computers single player match with bots [ENDQUOTE] this came from a post on forumplanet.com in the battlefield 2 section as i said i have yet to test this thearoy but update this board when i have tried it cheers -thyco1241

This is great news for me, another +1 reason for me to get it. Thanks.

the fact that the m249 is too inaccurate

I know I haven't had experience with the real thing, but I've felt that m249's in games are ALWAYS inaccurate. I don't know why they do it. It's meant to be a so-called "Support weapon", but often in games it's so dodgy it is more useful as a timewaster while you're waiting to die.

The M249 is an area weapon. Its role as support means it has to whack down a load of fire in the general direction of the enemy. The M249 hits across a box, not a point like the M16. However it might be innacurate compared to the Americas Army version which can be used for point shots fairly well but is brilliant at area spray. Thats another thing BF2 could do with....green tracer on some machine guns like AA. It would look ace.

Keep in mind that the game has to be created by a person using an internet account, and the person joining must also have an internet account, the fire wall MUST be turned off on the computer hosting the game, this was probably where you had your problem thyco1241. I have also tested it between two computers and it worked fine.

that is true, but that is also what you use the m60 and m240/mag 58 for as they are HMG's (heavy machine guns) which are used for platton defence where the m249/ MINIMI is a LSW( light support weapon) it is used as section defence and when firing in 2-3rds bursts, it is extremely accurate, ie: you can take down a target with ease when firing from the prone supported possition from 300m away with out the need for a spotter as the rounds will land within 1m of the target if not on the target. where as in game i haven't been able to hit a MEC soilder within 50m of me. it just pains to see games being brought out with out the devs actually firiing the weapons and imputting ballastic's into the game.
