This is a new sticky thread for ppl to post their BF2 performance and system setup so all the community can see exactly how the demo handles with different systems and vid cards.

Here is how to post (copy this if need be)

CPU (make and speed)..... Memory (amount)..... Vid card (model, make and amount of mem)..... Display resolution (ie: 1024X768)..... Graphic Quality (ie: Low/Medium/High)..... OS (ie: WinXP SP1/SP2 etc)..... Number of Players..... FPS..... Gameplay Experience (ie: Good/Average/Poor/Unplayable).....

This is not a scientific test, more a pants feel idea so that ppl can decide if they should go with a slightly slower vid card over more mem if they can't afford both.

NOTE: Do not post in this thread until you have the demo, and once you have it ONLY POST THE ABOVE DETAILS. Save moans, whinges, bitches and possible superlatives in their own threads and forums. Any off thread posts or additional in post comments beyond the basics above WILL BE DELETED. I will check everyday just to make sure you all follow these basic rules. Thank you for your co-operation.

Edit, adding a extra point. If your computer doesn't work please post specs as above but in the FPS section just put, doesn't work, then take problem to help forum, this way ppl can see what computer setups have problems with the game as well.

Hi guys, me again, just a quick mention, you can use FRAPS to get a good measure of FPS, but personally I think the gameplay experience is more important, how it feels rather than exact measurement, so an estimate is fine for FPS, but don't be surprised if your estimate is actually way off, with good gameplay ppl tend to way overestimate FPS.

My specs are:

CPU : P4 2.53 Ghz Memory : 1024 mb pc2700 (2x512) Vid card : ATI Radeon 9550 256mb Display resolution : 800x600x32 Graphic Quality : Medium OS : XP Pro (w/ sp2) Number of Players : 32 FPS : 60-80 (guess) Gameplay Experience : Good

I could probably run it a higher setting, but I'm trying to start it with realistic ones for my rig. The demo runs great, and I'm very pleased thus far.

CPU (make and speed).....Athlon 3000+ Memory (amount).....1 gig Vid card (model, make and amount of mem).....Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB Display resolution (ie: 1024X768).....10248x768 85hz Graphic Quality (ie: Low/Medium/High).....Mostly HIGH. Shadows and World Detail MEDIUM OS (ie: WinXP SP1/SP2 etc).....winxp sp2 Number of Players.....32 FPS.....4-39 (USE THE FREE FRAPS APPLICATION) Gameplay Experience (ie: Good/Average/Poor/Unplayable).....POOR In most intense action/vehicle moments my FPS drops to the single digits. I read that the BF2 demo was only successfully tested on Catalyst 5.1, so I really hope that that the slow and inconsistent framerate is a result of driver incompatability. Even the GUI is slow!confusedx.gif
