Arty strikes, supply drops, and of course you get some kind of cut from the overall team score.

It is harder than it looks. Most commanders are arty & supplies only. You wont get very many points just doing that. The problem is getting your squads to listen to you and trust you! I have played whole games were I havent used one shot. You have to look and listen and be able to make quick decisions. REPAIRS, DEMOLITIONS, MINES, SUPPLIES, DEFEND, ATTACK, MOVE. You are the guardian of your team! Communication is TRUMP! PS arty strike dont get you many points! Even if you kill 20 enemy at a time

Commanders earn NO points from arty, supply drop and etc. The only points the commander gets is a mean of the total number of points earned by the team, doubled if the team wins. Therefore the better a commander can direct squads to win the game the more points he gets. It's a about being a good commander.

this isn't true... it's what AK said that earns you commander points: how well your team plays by making kills and whatever, brings up your score as a commander. i've heard that placing a UAV somewhere... and your team making kills within the UAV diameter, would increase your commanding score.
