I have played BF2 and Joint Operation demos. They are great. But after reading many posts on this forum and planetbattlefield's, there are many bugs in the game.

Should I buy Joint Operation rather than BF2?

Joint ops is cheap and alot more mature then Bf2 since it has been updated alot. They are both hard on computers though.

You aren't being serious are you? Get BF2. The little bugs are getting fixed up just like with BF1942 when it was released. Not to mention, there's alot more people playing BF2 and probably will be for some time to come.

Well lets consider this a moment. Joint Operations came out in mid 2004 and has had 9 patches released for it, of course it's going to be less buggy than BF2, but I also played the JO demo and followed the JO release for a short while, and I consider BF2 to be at least as good, if not better, than JO when that was released. I personally think BF2 has more potential than JO. If you check the released mods for JO there have been a total of, oh, eleven mod files! Since mid 2004. compared to how many for BF2? Well its only just come out so there is only, umm, 25! Yes some are updates of mods but so are some in the JO files.

Personally I think if you buy JO you will end up buying BF2 eventually anyway because BF2 will have a much longer lifespan than JO due to the mods but if yo buy BF2 first you will just save yourself $50 cause you will not get JO at all.

Now this is the BF2 forums s of course we are going to be biased.

Go here and do some research, browse the forums etc.

Well I came from playing Rainbow6+AS, to JOPS. And Found the team work in coop mode very good, much better then Rainbow. Now I'm playing BF2 (never played BF1942 b4).

The only thing I find playing in ADV mode is that, just like MOHAA and COD you get players doing daft things, or just for the hell of it... spoiling the game. Games like MOHAA, COD, BF2 are realy grown up games. The point being "Team work". Find a server with mainly ADULTS, and you can have a hell of a time (Fun wise). The fun being part of a team. So depending what games you have come from, I would say yes to getting JOPS. Just to cutting your teeth in to a diff sort of game mode. Then go and get BF2, and by that time, most of the bugs :uhm: should have been worke'd out. My point of vew any ways. All the best mate.

If you have an maxed-out gaming PC then get BF2.But if your like me and dont have thousands to put into a PC,then you should stick with JO.Both are pretty laggy on multi for me(i had the BF2 demo and I have JO)but maybe not laggy 4 you.I strongly suggest that you go with JO if you like non-stop fighting and tactics and stuff.

Thousands? I have a $300 home built computer and BF2 runs fine.

THe one onteresting thing JO had was that if you walked into helicopters you would stay in them without having to "Get in" and could walk around as they flew with no problem. The downside was that the helicopters took NO skill and they had NO planes and no cool features and commadner and squads. I just wish BF2 could have a better vehicles collision detection like JO.
