OK well I got BF2 a couple days ago and I SUCK at flying... I have no idea how to handle it properly, fire weapons properly or anything. Whenever I'm flying and I lock on to an aerial target such as another plane, I fire my missiles but they just fly straight and don't hit the enemy.
Is there a guide out there for flying or does anybody have any tips that could help me out? Thanks!
Well, on youtube theres a great seris of chopper flying tutorials. Flying is one of those things with a big learning curve, but once you get the hang of it you wont want to do anything else.
ive found that when i was playing bf2 that if i reversed the heli/plane mouse vertical control that it was quite easier to fly.. when i was playing it before my card decided to give in its ghost... i used "A" and "D" as well as the mouse to turn etc.. or if i was flying i used the arrow keys to roll etc.. also i had my mouse set so if i pressed the side buttons.. it rolled either left or right.... it was the same with bf1942 although that there wasnt any heli's and it was alot easier... i got use to the controls for DC so when i got bf2 it was very easy to fly.. Just keep practising.. and you will eventually get good at it... try hosting a mp game where you can practise without the threat of enemy's shooting you down etc...

Flying? Whats that? Every server I see now is infantry only! Its tough, I suck at attack choppers but blackhawk transpo isnt bad. Start learning on the bigger choppers to get the physics down then progress to the faster ones. For planes you gotta have a joystick. Make sure you configure all the buttons too.

Not true at all. Most people dont use joysticks and i dogfight and bomb perfectly well, as well as anyone with a joystick and i dont have one.
A joystick makes it much more intuitive. If you get one, make sure it has a "twist" stick and a throttle. I recommend the Saitek Cyborg 3d Evo
I didn't make it!
I thought it was hard. I never liked flying I only drove ships and land units of used planes as kamakasy planes!!! but im sure a joystick can make it easy:eek:
