All you have to do guys is rename the BF2.exe in the C:/EA Games/Battlefield 2 folder to something like 100.exe and change the target line on the desktop shortcut to fit the current change. It made a huge difference for me on my current settings I have now. 0 Lag pretty much on 64 player servers. I wonder if this could work with other games, say like Madden 2006... P4 1.8. 1024Ram. ATI 9600XT.

Yes it will work since you will run all the game in direct x 8.1 mode.

I was trying to find it but I cannot. Stalker(game from GCS in russia) will run in direct x8.1 or 9.0c and it looks great in 8.1 from the screenies.

Here are two screenies. They are taken with Fraps so they are to large to use normal hosting so i decided to winrar them and then rename them. Try and guess which one is using the lag reducing system and which one isnt. They are name Which and one the pictures themselves. Once i figure out how to compress the images them I will put a side by side comparison up for you but so far just tell me if you can ID which one it is.

FYI they have been taken on idenctical settings that being everything on medium. I experience a 10-15 FPS increase using the new way.

Yea neither can I Now i know those pictures arent exactly perfectly lined up so some people amy flip on me, sorry. But if anyone can tell the diffrence just say so and tell why so the rest of us can see it. A bit later I will tell which one is which and then mabey if we really nit pick we may be able to identify it. Oh FYI Shadows are practically identical on them but on my computer with the DX8 or 9 shadows look like they have diffrent quality levels depending on what angle you see them so thats why I didnt post any with shadows (The shadows dont look any better or worse though.)

Okay well I just tried it out and there is a difference in fps about 5-10 more. Which is good for people are desperate for more fps. And I couldn't tell any difference between the quality of graphics. Unfortunatly you can't use xfire with this tweak which kinda sucks because I use xfire everytime I play bf2. Unless there's a way to use xfire and this tweak I don't think I will but I would recommend it for people who need more fps. Good Job on finding it though Faction. :smokin:

Ive already modified my Xfire to accept the new modification. You need to get the game log from the Xfire installed look for BF2 and then rename the exe path in Xfire from BF2 to whatever you have done. Its in your Xfile folder under Xfire_games config file. Just open that and search for BF2

EDIT: The one that is the modified game is the file named "one" which is from the original game name and "one" is from my modified game name.
