I have played the multiplayer demo of BF2: Modern Combat for the XBOX and I have to say that it is surprisingly good! In fact, there are several things that are superior to the PC version. First of all, there are only 6 kits to choose from, and they are more versatile than the PC version. They include: laser designators, scanners to detect close enemies, and more! Second, there is the normal conquest mode, as well as team death match, capture the flag, and 'other unannounced modes'. Damn! All we have for the PC is conquest, which gets boring pretty quickly. Instead of getting constantly spammed with artillery from the enemy's commander, there is no commander. Instead, there is one artillery launch area per map and anyone can use it when it is 'charged up'. An interesting single player campaign is included, not just regular BF2 singleplayer 'practice' mode. Also, you don't die as quickly in the console version as in the PC version. In addition, hit detection is much more accurate and the sniper rifle has TWO ZOOM distances (doesnt sound like a luxury until you use the PC BF2 sniper rifles, all with one lame ass medium range zoom)! There are other cool features as well. http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-2/battlefield-modern-combat/635909p2.html Granted, BF2 has a larger scale, larger maps, more players, etc... It also has tons of bugs and unstable netcode. There is also the awesome mod community, only available on your local PC. I know that both versions were made by different sections of DICE, but I just want to know why so many compromises were made for the PC version and why some really great ideas are only in the console versions.

Unstable netcode?? What is it about the netcode that's unstable on the PC version? Most everyone I have seen has agreed that the netcode in BF2 is a very nice improvement over the old BF1942 netcode and I haven't seen anyone except you say that the netcode is 'unstable'. Please explain. Does BF2 have some bugs that need fixing? Yeah, sure it does. But I don't think the netcode is one of them.

After playing both the console and PC version, I can truthfully say that the PC version is far superior. Although the console version is good.....it's no comparison to the PC one. The features you say are on the console version are just really dumbed down ones. Like the laser designation for one....that would only be true if there were actual controllable aircraft apart from the helos. Having a computer strike a target for you just isn't the same.

Those Features sound cool, just to start off with. I was really looking up to being the spec ops and using a laser designator on a tank at a distance. I have not played the Xbox version so Im not sure how it works. But it would be great on PC, as long as there is a team mate in a f-15,-18-35, ect with his laser bombs on the target.

It would suck if it were computer controled/scripted to hit say after 15 seconds of lasing the target. Sniper is just fine in bf2 I think. Multiple zoom... mmmmmm. That would be great however. But as for bullet drop and travel I think is fine. With the urban enviroment and better distance for some comps They dont want Sniper to kill people from extream distances. I have 2 gigs of ram and Duel 6800's so I run on full enviro distance, I see alot of people before they see me and its a problem, for them:nodding:

So, Tinboy, you don't experience any ingame lag when playing online? No stuttering on ranked servers? Playing BF2 is smooth sailing huh? Liar. What up shady?cya.gif I forgot to mention that BF2: Modern Combat will come out on the XBOX 360 and the rumor is that it will have support for up to 64 players. That beehotch is so fat. She must be on that new diet plan...Slim Slow!

Actually yes I dont experience any problems. Oh and yes lol your "laser designator" is like a dumbed down version of our artillery in a sense. But Yea its probably more acurate but still lol. And sadly you miss out on commander mode! and all the good VOIP sweetness. Oh and the new upcoming expansion pack (Weve got zip lines!) and dont forget you miss out on mods and maps by the community! And the zoom on the current sniper scopes is fine by me I mean yea having a second level would be nice but the current is fine for me. LOL and you dont have planes? I feel for ya.

Just remember that mods are a games salvation! :bows:

With most of the things I've seen in BF:MC videos it shouldn't be to hard for a mod team to do most of that stuff, most of it would just be changing weapon settings. And if were lucky EA will do something about the lag/slow down most people are seeing.
