Hi guys. Is the POV fixed in BF2? Or is it navel height as in BF42?

I don't think anyone was looking out of their naval in BF1942, would you care to expand on that a bit further? The POV in BF2 is head height, 1st person for infantry, with a number of POV's for vehicles.

In BF42, the infantry POV was somewhere in the belly, not at eye level. This lead to the problems when you tried to hide around the corner, you'd think you are behind it, cause of your POV, but the enemy saw your full head around the corner. Same when hiding in a bush. You'd carefully crawl out of the bush so that the branches are just just beginning to open up from your POV, but when someone from outside looked at you, half of your boddy was sticking out. Another problem this produced was for the modders. The scale of everything was completely screwed up, since you "looked out" from your belly, yet had to see everything around you as if at normal height. I was actually wondering the same thing.

I must admit that I played (and still play) DC, did they change it for DC?

AK you just answered my question. If you are sure it is eye level not navel level I am happy. If you are unsure I suggest you do a test with a friend. Peek your head out around a corner or over an obstacle, a jeep or a rock or similar, and ask your buddy what he sees. Best way to check if there is no 3rd person view in BF2. In BF42 your entire upper body would stick out around the corner when what you saw in first person looked like only your head was sticking out. That is why I said the POV is navel level in BF42. Can't believe they never patched that for 42. As for if they changed it for DC or not, I doubt it. I think it is hard coded into the original BF42, so it is the same for all mods.

Mods cannot fix it without some serious overhaul When the POV is placed in the head, every single static in game is messed up in proportions. Just for example, when you are crouched behind a sandbag, you will see as if you are standing up. Or for example with those bunkers slits/windows/etc, when the POV is placed in the head, you will be looking above the slit/window. Mods rely heavily on existing statics (despite all the new stuff). And no mod would rebuild every single model just for this This is a very known issue, especially in the FH community.
