Just got through reading the Terms and Conditions for Ranked game play on EA. I've been noticing the way all the reps keep pushing the Ranked type play over un-ranked play and putting the two together, that you don’t push a product unless its to bring in the moo-la and this question seems to be rising.

Will we have to pay to play on Ranked servers??

Read for it for yourself and let me know you think or have heard or know for a fact.

Thanks, Ed

I dont think you have to pay to play on ranked servers. Im sure they would tell you that you have to before the game comes out. Every game you have to pay to play online has a thing on the box saying something like "Monthly Fee for online play". Im sure EA would loose alot of customers too if u had to pay to play on ranked servers cyberguy.gif

I think your right. After talking with other online players they said something like what your saying. Lets hope that it stays free. Thanks for the info, Ed

I imagine that it would be like C&C:Generals -- they have ranked servers, but you don't have to pay for them. If you did... I don't know, but I would bet on at least one of EA's offices getting burned down...

The T's and C's are the same for all EA Games, and there are some EA games that require you to pay a monthly fee so the info about paying is included, however AFAIK there is no monthly fee required to play on BF2, and it is likely that selected trusted servers in other countries will also be able to run as ranked servers as well as the official EA servers.

Also if anything the Cost would be on the people who want to have a ranked server. I have heard that people/clans wanting to have their server ranked will have to pay a good size fee for their server to be a ranked server. My clan has looked into what it would take to be a ranked server. But it should be 100% free to gamers. So rest your fears, and lets frag. Gunny.

Don't worry about the money guys. That wont be an issue here. The lack of ranked servers to go around will be the problem. No way EA can support enough servers to cover the needs of all the bf2 players out there. Not even just the prima donnas that feel stats and records of flags and kills are the point of our game. I play in a 64 man tourney twice a week on our own server and wont miss the ranked publics anyways., But we will hear a whole bunch of rants and raves from the Pub Rats and Noobs that have nowhere else to play or won't even consider joining a team setup, because it interfere's with their need to smaktard and teamkill. It's gonna be one heck of a Summer, guys.:spank: sad%20(frown).gif :moon: Winter Lion Site Admin Global-Conflict.org
