If you want, you can always try out the game on a private server, go to epcgaming.com

KnippschildWell the thing is, I just made $60 working 8 hours.. and basically if I were to buy BF2 (the original, not the expansion) I'd blow the majority of it away with one thing. I honestly couldn't enjoy BF1942 because the massive amount of patches at that time (I started later.. so I had to download like 600 meg patch file, I think). The game looks awesome, sounds awesome, and smells awesome (how does that work?) Anyway.. Walmart is charging $49.82 for basically an oversized DVD case with the game in it. What happened to our box arts? Basically it comes down to this; should I buy it?

What is so bad about downloading 600 megs of patchs? Its 1 file and just go to a gamer site to download it. Do you not have broadband? If you dont then I will tell you to NOT buy the game.

Dont buy it without broadband.......I mean wtf really..you think a game from 2002 wouldnt have a bunch of patches? all you need is the 1.6 patch.......and I dont see 600 meb of patches...unless your downloading desert combat.....and your looking at more than that.
