I have to say that one thing i have never been good at is at being a sniper:( so as they say try and try again, which i did but to no avail,so in trying to get my kill count up i got in a tank, nothing wrong in that you may say,but then after about 10 kills i got a sniper badge???so you get a sniper badge for killing in a tank:uhm: not 1 kill have i made yet with a sniper rifle but for being sniper in a tank you get the same results as killing with the rifle:confused:

you get a basic combat badge when you have 10 kills with any kit. it doesn't matter if you are in a tank or if you use your side arm.

But why get a sniper badge when killing in a tank?with no actual kills from your rifle.

So if you consider that as being a little bit strange, then yes, it is. I too think it's a little on the strange side. But it allowed you to get your Sniper badge which could be considered a good thing, no? Hehe. I don't know, but perhaps to go beyond and above the 'Basic' Sniper Combat badge you will have to prove you are actually worthy with the sniper rifle itself? I'm like you, no good at all as a Sniper.

rofl :agreed Fairly close range on Mashtuur City (sp?) there was a MEC guy in the square area in front of the Mosque and I was on a roof fairly close above and aimed it perfectly at his head, shot him and then he turns around and finds me before I can crack the second round off and kills me with the AK101. I actually shot him in the side of the models face because I thought that might instantly kill him. Second time I was up on that roof a Vodnik comes across the bridge and stops half way up the ramp in front of the Mosque to fire on the Americans taking cover by the Mosque. The driver switches to the MG position and opens fire so I take aim at his helmet and shoot him and he's dead in one shot. Now either he was on slightly lower health already or the damage zones suck arse. How could someone survive an M24 round to the side of the head and not through their helmet. I remember a similar scenario when MOHAA originally came out. EA isn't too hot with realistic damage levels of guns, and it woudl take two sniper rounds to kill someone in MOHAA and they would survive a headshot just like BF2. That all changed when a mini server realism mod came out and was widely adopted, with a sensible amount of damage caused by the weapons. I hope something similar for BF2 catches on because sometimes its just stupid the amount of damage someone is able to take.

Yea I beleive the sniper rifles are just slighty difficult because of their damage allocation. Like said by orange it seems swometimes you take their heads with a shot but then other times it seems like they can survive the hit. I dont know what it is but it should be changed. And yes as long as you are in the class and acquire 10 kills it will count as a badge. I agree its strange.
