I still play the original game, and have had many beefs about it and started to mod it. I was wondering how many people even play the original (1.0) version of the game:confused:, to see if it is worth releasing a weapon tweak/balence mod? Any modding requests?

Hell no. Everyone plays 1.3.
You must be playing SP (which IMO is a stupid thing to do because BF2 is not an SP game) because I really doubt there are ANY 1.0 servers up.
Do yourself a favour, get the 1.3 patch and play online, there will be a far wider audience for your mod

Actually, in North America, it looks there are about 300 players on 10 servers playing version 1.0 (1.0.2442.0). About 7 servers have at least 10 people on them. I wonder why?!?!
Then there are many players and servers still running the version prior to 1.3. At this moment in North America on version 1.22 (1.1.2720-552.0) there are about 770 players on about 300 servers. About 30 servers have at least 10 people on them. There are many EA Official servers still at version 1.22.
I think I understand why some of the 1.22 servers haven't switched to version 1.3, but why many still playing at version 1.0? :uhm:
BTW, I filtered for no mod. My sample was taken only for un-modified server versions.
I'm too cool to Post

On unranked servers you are not required to patch. So the issues that people have been complainin about ? No issues on original servers. I say release it and see what happens. What have you got to lose ? Upload time ?
SciComHam, please do not start on about that. In another thread I have already posted my issues about not being able to use the unlockable weapons because of EA's ignorance of Battlefield fans with slow internet. I have a 52k modem and getting high speed is out of the question ($). For everybody else, I use the v1.0 because I do not play online and there are no problems that I can't fix with the sp. I do not intend to get any patches, and mods I release would be focused more toward the sp community so don't expect me to start a server or anything. Merrick, I told you that allot of people jump to conclusions on these forums and on download sites and i don't want to deal with other people's stupidity when the mod title says v.1.0
pdkm, would you possibly be interested in a real damage/balencing mod? if anyone has a 1.0 mod request please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

err u can have the unloks on singleplayer if u want, heres how: Just go to Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\python\bf2\stats and open a file called "unlocks.py" in notepad.
Look for the following line: defaultUnlocks = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]
Change all the zero's to one's so it looks like this: defaultUnlocks = [1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1]
Save it, and there you go. This will just allow you to use unlock weapons in single player.

But then you don't get the good unlocks like the F2000, SCAR-L, L96...
