Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could help me out here... I want either the GF 6800GT 258 or the 6800 Ultra 258.... The only spec difference between the two is that the core clock for the GT is 350 and the Ultra is 400, the Mem Clock for the GT is 1000 and the Ultra is 1100. Will I honestly see THAT much of a difference that the price difference suggests? (There is a price gap between the models of a whopping 170 dollars on newegg.) Help!! Thanks..

probably not 170$ worth of visual difference between them......but sometimes you get what you pay for!

Yea I have 6800GT. But some people arent having problems. I am going to suggest dont pay that 170$ diffrence. I have overclocked my card from a 6800GT to a bit above a 6800Ultra with no troubles. They are essentially the same card since they have the same number of vertex shaders and pixel pipelines so just dont waste the 170$. I also feel that after much discussion on that thread it may very well be my processor. So just put those 170$ towards another processor instead.

go for the 6800 GT 256. You can get more bang for your buck anywhere. You can even overclock the bugger to ultra speeds. If you are feeling realy adventurous, you can flash the gpu bios to that of an Ultra. As for the problems other 6800 gt users are having. They simply havent been listening. Turning off AGP fastwrites solves 99% of lag problems with those cards. Ive got a BFG 6800gt 256mb OC and it is a wonderful card. I highly recommend it.

*Bangs head on table* I have!!!!! Ah and you say that you already have a 3500? GOOD! Keep it and take that money (170$) and get another Motherboard and get a Dual PCI-E board and then get the 6800GT for the PCI-E Your processor is great!

Yep, I have the same card as Trojanman, in fact, I like it so much, I bought another, both before and now as an SLi setup, it's a great card.
