Surprisingly, I haven't seen any threads on this topic so I thought i'd start one. I hope to god that a fix for this is in the new patch, because the "hit a guy 6-8 times and not kill him" when you get into a firefight is getting on my nerves. Sometimes its a half/full clip with a automatic. Then with some weapons (support, sniper, pistol) you can shot at someone who is lined up perfectly in your sights and not hit anything! I got killed with a pistol buy a guy i snuck up on firing at him with the US support gun on full auto! He wasnt more than 3 or 4 feet away! And the ironsight aim + kneeling/prone position is of little help with the support weapons. Speaking of the pistol, seems when you have one thats silenced, the silencer gets in the way of the iron sights. Nice...

You should learn to aim if you snuck up to someone, shoot, and not kill him. It seems to me that you have not put alot of thought/research into the M249/RPK/etc. These weapon recoil alot because they are meant for suppression. As for the SUPPRESSED pistol, if you have ever looked down the real iron sights of a M92S, the SUPPRESSOR gets in the way a tiny bit. BTW: MAGAZINE...not clip.

Ever tried firing in a single-fire mode? Make every bullet count, and record your hits. It doesn't take more then 3-4 (5-6 for those with body armor) to kill them. If you fire full auto, no wonder you miss.

Near 75% of the time, I use single fire in the weapons that allow it (I don't think the AT submachine gun allows it). More accurate and it seems more deadly to me.

the submachine guns does allow it. The Automatic rifles dont.....God I wish that the Sub machine guns didnt have it! Its hard when you quickly swap back your weapon and find you accidentaly switched it to single shot! What annoys me is how deadly the spec ops weapons are. But meh thats just me not really the games fault.

That reminded me of something on the MEC pistol, the actual aimpoint is about 1/2 to 3/4 cm higher than the ironsights show, is this deliberate? Its certainly annoying and ignorant.

Research or thought has nothing to do with it. And if you "research" my post, you will see i said "And the ironsight aim + kneeling/prone position is of little help with the support weapons". If someone is standing in front of you and you have a machnie gun and you let it rip, they should get pretty dead pretty fast, aiming or not. And no, I havent looked down the real iron sights of a M92S, and I seriously doubt a 15 yr old has either. You people should realize that not everyone that plays a army game has been in the army or actually used weapons similar to the one in the game of discussion, before you try to sound smart using tech talk and getting on someones case. Put some research/thought into that.

Yes single fire seems the way to go with unsuspecting targets or when in a firefight in the prone position at a distance, but when shooting at a moving target, best bet is to pump 3-4 shots in them quick instead of 1 at a time. And about the full auto mode, the guy was dead smack in front of me. No amount of recoil or whatever else should be a factor at point blank.

Boy you sure are ignorant. You don't need to be in the army to know that you can't run around with a machine-gun hoping to gun down everything you see. They do die pretty quick actually, you're just not hitting them. They made it spray that much so that no one whores it like in Battlefield Vietnam on the urban maps.
