This isnt anything new to the industry but its finally being made cheap enough for a home user to afford. Imagine the ease of making a complicated 3d model now. http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994737

I'm going to snap one up as soon as their available and make me a virtual Brookster!

WOW! I'm going to get one of those... but how much is "ý100"? Jap. Yen? hahaha like 1/100 of a cent. I'm going to make a virtual companion :naughty: (a hott lady, like from a swimsuit contest) Can you believe this? wow. Im still amazed. Think of HL2 when this comes out! "Hey Ditch, need a model of a glass mug for my mod." *scans* "All done." WOW! Hey then you could make brookster do anything you wanted! Scary... Maybe there will be plugins for milkshape... like my camera does panoramic views, that sorta thing.

Guys--that's not a bloody yen. That's a British pound. It's 100 british pounds which means it will be about 200 dollars in the US. Common sense would tell you that such a device would cost more than 100 yen.
