what are your expectations or thoughts of what will be included in the 3rd movie coming this fall/winter. I think that it will be a mix of war and peace....and i think they will go and fight in that place where the ring needs to be destroyed. Looks good, what do u think will be in it/happen in it?

I am watching The Patriot right now, so the concept of the War of the Ring is very difficult to think about. I think that it will be a mix of war and peace as well.

well considering ive read all the books, ive got a pretty good idea of what will come.

but i think the part that i am looking forward to the most is Aragorn riding through the (i believe it was called) the trail of the dead or something to that nature... that was one of my favorite scenes in the book

regardless, it will be awsome - just like the previous two. I have to say going from reading the books as a child and seeing the movies now... its just as i imagined it *bliss*

RotK is the best of the LOTR books in my opinion. The film has me a bit worried though, because *SO* much happens in the book that it's hard to see how they can do justice to it in a 3-hour film. The battle at Minas Tirith, for example, is on an even more epic scale than Helm's Deep. Not to mention all the other stuff that I won't mention here as there's people present who haven't read the books... I've heard rumours that the part near the end (the Shire) will be very different from the book, so it'll be interesting to see what the good Doctor Jackson does there.

Eek. Another boxed set?? So in total, counting all the LOTR DVDs, there's going to be: Fellowship, Extended Fellowship, Fellowship Collector's Edition, Two Towers, Extended Two Towers, Two Towers Collector's Edition, then presumably three RotK DVDs, and then a boxed set of the entire series containing footage we won't see anywhere else?!?! That makes 10 Lord of the Rings DVDs. Bloody hell. Still, I suppose it isn't quite as bad as the Alien series, for which three different compilation boxed sets have been released (or are about to anyway).

If you read the book, then be prepared for a COMPLETELY different ending :uhoh:
