I liked Stargate SG-1. Stargate Atlantis is gonna be good, right?
Depends on the chemistry between the team members. Outlook is good, imo.
err....whats Stargate Atlantis?
Ive only briefly read up in it, someone explain who will be in it? I remember there is a Stargate is the anarctic from the first season of Sg-1
Stargate Atlantis is a spinoff show of SG-1, because SG-1's closing after the next season (8 I think it is). It'll probably have a lot of activity in Antarctica because this is presumably where the lost city of Atlantis lies. According to info I've picked up on though, Atlantis does in fact get found, and a new team sets off on missions to a new galaxy (the one the ancients used to inhabit, perhaps). Some all-new enemy replaces the Goa'uld. Richard Dean Anderson will make a guest appearance in the first episode (I think Amanda Tapping might too), but the only familiar cast member will be the civilian lady who came in at the end of the last season to take control of the SGC. She's played by a different actress in SG: Atlantis though. You can find out more info on Atlantis here: http://www.gateworld.net/atlantis/index.shtml
What happens to Hammond ?
No idea. I haven't read the available info in a while, but I think SG: Atlantis might not be based at the SGC. In any case, I'm pretty sure he's out of the picture. Season 8 of SG-1 will decide all that, methinks.
O'Neill takes over command of the SGC and Hammond gets re-assigned/retires.
17th June 2002
Stargate Atlantis could be good, yeah. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Is it June/July it airs in the US? Should be about the end of the year by the time we get it on this side of the pond, then. Don't post too many spoilers :p
Last I heard was July 24th for Atlantis but dont quote me.
Hammond is retiring/promoted.
Also if you saw Fridays episode you saw what happened. I thought it was kick ass. Atlantis IMHO is gonna have some big shoes to fill.
