Der Sturmbannf├╝hrerill have to dissagree, the game is perfectly fine...

As long as it does not allow me to bind the keys to my own preference it`s pure shite.

While I find some things here are true, I don't necessarily agree with it all, and BTW [CoUk]niu, the patch will allow binding of all keys, does that mean the game is now great for you? :D

I find the game very enjoyable, I also was annoyed about the key binding, I had to change some of my standard settings, but what the hell, it's just a key press! As to content, yes the maps, they are a problem, the 3-in-one maps are annoying. more maps would have been better, and the low number of vehicles, however we have all been playing DC/FH/whatever for so long we have simply forgotten the original content of BF1942, it wasn't huge by any standards. There was (lets see if I can recall) 1 type of jeep for each side, maybe 2 types, of tanks each side, 1 type of artillery (they've gone backwards there on my opinion) and 12 maps, and the personal weapons were even more limited than in BF2 with no unlockables. So no, as regards maps, weapons and vehicles, some, but not a lot, of progress there! But I really believe that DICE has done that deliberately, and have concentrated more on making the game more moddable and introducing extra gameplay features than content. Content can ALWAYS be added later, either by DICE or by modders, but the basic gameplay features like squads, built in VOIP, the (albeit limited) destructible environment and the commander role have to be in form the beginning, some features would be very hard to add later. maybe not impossible, just very difficult, but more content, that's easy to add!

I do expect big things from BF2 modders, maybe some of you won't be around to see it but even if you do give it up you should pop in now and then to see if something has been done that will get you back in to playing.

To me the game was great after the first few days. Now I find it total and utter crap. lack of singleplayer. lack of maps. too much of teamkilling and punishing pricks. the game needs a serious make over. when all these mods are complete, Ill only play them and not the original game.

teamkilling should be modified yes. THe way that you get punished as a commander if some moron walks into an artillery area or the claymores and landmines. I just suggest the claymores are given a diffrent symbol that way people realize it will kill infantry sintead of their tank.

Game is good but was very overhyped. Won't be a life changer like Half-Life/CS or BF1942.

Battlefield 1942 changed my gaming life. For me, I will not speak for others, although I am sure I am not alone, the multyplayer aspects of the game are unlike any other. Being able to fly, drive, shooot, anything in the game is friggin awsome...especially with 6 person vehicles! The battlefield series is such an awsome series.....I still stick by Vietnam!! Bf2...I will stick by it and I just see so many more pros than cons! Hell with them for making it so demanding on a system that it makes some suffer.....that is not cool.....but for modders and mappers such as myself, I look forward to the future of gaming!
