A Michael FoxtrotOk, BF1942 came out when? Sept. of '02. That was 2 years ago. BFV cam out when? March '04. That was 6 months ago. You've already condemned a game before it's had time to mature. I did not get BF1942 when it first came out, so I don't know how long it was before the first update came out for it. Look how long it took For BF1942 to get where it is and look how much time people had to create mods for it. Dice is not going to stop making patches for BFV when BF2 comes out because there are two different development teams working on these games. If you think that BFV is going to lose some of their community wait and see how much of the BF1942 community you're going to lose when BF2 comes out. If I'm not mistaken DC represents a lot of that community. Granted you're going to have your "core" gamers in each particular game. Some people really like the simplistic gameplay of BF1942. I know I do. I love sneaking around as a sniper and spotting enemy positions for Padre. (one of my teammates I routinely play with) I also like sneaking around in the jungle, getting a transport Huey to take me and my teammates behind enemy lines and try to cap a point. I also like flying in a Black Hawk and supporting ground troops from above. Getting into a dogfight with a Mig. What I saying here as I've said before is that BFV is just one step in the evolution of combat. It's not a filler...it's just the next step in combat, just as BF2 will be to BFV.

....dude ..ur in dinial its a filler

.:SuBLiMe:.....dude ..ur in dinial its a filler
Uh... well... let's see. Referencing your previous definition of "filler":
no ppl ..a filler so they dont loose the BF communtiy i ment now its a filler between the space of BF2 and Bf1942 BFV is being used so that ppl will still play there games then when BF2 comes out everyone will buy that

So, what Foxtrot has stated doesn't counter what you've described as "filler." He explains why he likes to play both BF1942 & BFV and is looking forward to BF2. I think he, like me (and many others out there), would still be looking forward to BF2 even if BFV was never made. We just enjoy playing both current games on the market. You seem to be concerned about whether or not EA would have lost it's community if they never made BFV, but as it's been stated a hundred times before, EA is a publisher not a developing house. And even IF they published BFV to maintain its user-base and interest amongst them, doesn't that make sense from a business point of view? Sure, major patches and EA-published mods (like the WWII mod for BFV) may no longer be of interest to them once BF2 comes out, but look at BF1942. Ditto with that game since the release of BFV. And user-created mods? Well, EA has no control over that. It's up to the users to create them. BF1942 has a larger fan/user-base than BFV mainly because the game has been out for about two years previous to BFV's release... so, it makes sense. That and it's a little more archaic (not "archaic" per se, just a little more so) than BFV's game-core so it's a little friendlier to those who have rigs that aren't up to BFV's snuff. Also, BF1942 was one of the first successful games out there to provide epic-scope, team-based, tactical combat in an FPS. BFV was released at a point when the market has been flooded with them... BF1942 included. It just doesn't seem quite as unique when you compare it to BF1942's initial release. What's the point in all this? Sure EA wants to make money. It's what they're in the business of doing. Yes, BF1942 has a larger community than BFV: it's been out longer and can be played by most rigs out there. Yes, BF2 will be much drooled and sought after when it comes out by those in both the BF1942 and BFV fan camps. And yes, BFV is a fun game to play between BF1942 and BF2, IMHO. (I, for one, will continue to play both games even after BF2 comes out, though.) Does that define it as a "filler?" If that's what you're looking for, then there's your answer.

i dont know why so many ppl hate bfv, i think its better than bf1942, the graphics are better and there are choppers, and plus the ww2 mod makes up for bf1942.
