In regards to the /!\ indicator, I welcome the addition whole-heartedly. I couldn't stand it when pre-1.01 if I was too far away from our own point to be able to get back to prevent a flag turnover, I swear some others out there who would be NEAR that point wouldn't do anything... did they never hit "M" or even look at the map indicator on-screen to see which flag it is that is under attack? No clue. But, I've noticed that since the new /!\ indicator is there, more and more folks are keen on the goings-on of the flag points their team holds. This helps out in the long run since the game is about teamwork and anything that can help to promote that is a HUGE plus in my book. Sniper rifles not powerful enough? Then why is it that I seem to be killed by them with single shots so easily? Yeah, I do agree that any shot to the chest or head with the sniper should be a 100% health loss. I just suck at using them... but I know from experience (i.e. getting killed) that the sniper rifles in the game are plenty powerful enough to kill me with one shot. I find that the M14 is also suitably powerful... way moreso than the M-16 shot-for-shot. The M16's strength is in multiple hits or spraying an area. The M14's strength is in pure stopping power... and it DOES only take about two hits to score a kill with it. I don't mind historical inaccuracies in any of these Battlefield games (i.e. the amount of bullets in the clips discussion that always comes around for various guns). If the games were completely dead-on and accurate, then you'd need multiple guys on each tank in order to just get it going anywhere (who wants to be the guy that loads the shells... and nothing else)... and you'd need an entire team of guys just to get a submarine (in BF1942) running... and even more guys to get the aircraft carrier (again, BF1942) steaming ahead... the game would suck. World War II Online is a game that tried its best at creating an authentic experience where every weapon had the correct number of shells in the clips and what-not. Know what? The game blows. So, give me the BF series any day where the point of anything in the game is to keep the kits balanced and emphasize teamwork over all else.

I snipe most of the time in BFV and I've found myself taking three shots at a guy and i see the indicator on my crosshairs that I hit him, but he runs away into the jungle never to be shot by me again. But thats only occasionally, most of the time I can get 'em in one or two shots =D.

I generally like it, nut they need to make it more realistic when it comes to getting shot or shooting someone. I noticed that some of you have already mentioned the sniper rifle and thats just pathetic. When it comes to vehicles and how the controls are on them I don't care, I'm virtually never anything but infantry. Back to the point, they should make it like whem you get shot you get shot, you die. Like they have done in FH, I think EoD also had a bit more realism when it came to that.

Yeah, they should definitely do something about sniping. But, it does really vary from time to time, sometimes you can get em once in the head, or you try loads of times in the head.

With the sniper rifles the biggest thing about being good is having PATIENCE!!!! The way to get kills is to do as follows: 1. Spot some poor sucker running around

2. Keep on following him around with your scope. Dont shoot right when you see someone because the chances or hitting him are very slim. The reasons for not hitting him could be that you have not given the rifle enough time to settle down. In this game if you have a sniper and you do a belly flop and shoot somthing right off the bat chances are that you are not giong to hit the target that you are aiming for right on. To avoid this problem you have to wait about one to two seconds for the aim to narrow down. Also it is quite hard(but not after practice) to hit a moving target, in order to hit a moving target you have to judge the distance that your target is from you and the speed that he is travelling at and compensate by aiming ahead of your target. If you do shoot and miss your target will probably hear the bullet whizzing by and start juking all over the place making it even more hard to shoot him.

3. Once the target stops to shoot someone (ie crouching or prone aiming) aim right for his lower head(jaw), give the rifle about half a second (this time should be good if you havent been moving your scope quickly the faster you move your scope the further apart your reticule will be)to get its aim right on and then shoot. If you aim for the lower head then you will almost always hit your target. If the rifle is off a bit then you will hit his upper head or upper chest. I find this is the best way to get tons of kills and it also helps your target figure out where you are(unless the server has some sort of death cam thing:mad: ). You have to remember that the rifle is not a lazer and it will not shoot exactly where you point it every time. The reticule may be off a bit and also remember that the bullet will take a bit of time to hit your target so you must compensate for this as well. Also what I think of the patch. I think the M-60 and RPD effects have a very good effect. They are still just as deadly prone but when you shoot them standing up the gun shoots up right away. After this patch I have made some new friends. They are the Mig-21 and the Type-56/RPG-7(not exactly right I know but you get the point). The Mig-21 is so fast and it has such good handling that I almost never get shot down. It is faster than all other jets (just a bit faster than the Fantom) and its turning radius is so much tighter than all other jets that its very hard to be out maneuvered and very easy to loose someone who is chasing you. I have been alot of OFD and with the Mig-21 I find that my team can hold the AVRN back and our towers take minimal damage. Its rockets are not that powerfull but it still does some damage against towers. The Type-56/RPG-7 combo is just so awesome. The rifle is fairly powerfull(not as powerfull as the M-14) has a hight firing rate and great accuracy over a distance. I can kill people much more often at close range than I can with the M-14 because of its high ROF and I can't kill the person with the Type-56 then I will pull out my RPG and blast the ground near them(this is an instant kill if you are within a meter or so of your target). The RPG is also very powerfull against armor and as I mentioned before it also has very good splash damage against infantry. Although this combo is not as Uber as the M-60/LAW combo was I find it works pretty damn good for me. One of the grips I have with the game now is on Fall of Lang Vie(I think). The NVA takes its spawn chopper as high as it can go(which is considerably higher than the Huey or the Cobra can fly) and troops spawn up in the chopper jump out and assault the main US base. This as I found out yesterday is not much fun at all for the US team. I would say it would be more fair if the NVA guys didnt have the option of spawning in the chopper. Instead the chopper would have to load up with guys in their main base then fly over a base and drop off its guys. And also why do they have to do it to the US main base? Why couldnt they drop guys off over the smaller bases first and capture them. This would be a much fairer thing for them to do and it would make the game much more enjoyable. This experience ruined that map for me and I doubt I will ever play it again for a while. If anyone has any suggestions on how to combat this cheap tactic they would be very welcom. Well I am done all of my rambling and I hope my sniper advise helps you out!:smokin:

Snake_ShitI got 128 9600 PRO and have to turn of these things in the bios to make it run okay. It make the graphics look weird though, kinda blocky. I think it took EA way too long to make this patch.

i got the same card and my crap is up to highest so what are you talking about?

i'm still not happy with the damage against infantry.....you literally have to land tank shells at a guys feet to kill him....in 1942 a shell in the vicinity of a soldier sends him flying to his death......you dont get that so much in vietnam, a guy with a anti tank weapon can square up to a tank and beat it while u land shells all around him....i know i could use the machine gun but thats not the point..........other than that im quite happy with the patch, the gameplay isnt choppy any more and the ping filter is now working.

Spash damage for tanks sucks. Even the splash damage for the M110 is pretty small - and that's supposed to be anti-infantry!

Yeah but they probably turned down the splash damage due to what i experinced last night. i was playing '42 and we were down to our last un-capturable base, and we were getting seriously spawn camped by 3 tanks. not saying there is anything thing wrong with this, but it is frustrating. needless to say I did slip away and cap another base which took some of the heat off from my team mates, but took me almost 20 minutes to do so. Now I maybe sick in the head, but i tend to like those nearly impossible challenges.
