What the heck is this? Where is the sequel to BF1942? I think there must have been a mixup, because this CANNOT POSSIBLY be the sequel to BF42. For the love of C4, THERE'S NO CO-OP!!!!??? What the hell am I supposed to do with this??? A Battlefield sequel with no co-op is like a paintball gun with no bolt! Like a mouse with no buttons! Like a graphics card without drivers! IT JUST DOESN'T WORK!!!! And what is this noise about unlocking stuff? I cant use certain weapons or stuff unless I unlock them? Screw that! If this doesnt get fixed fast, Im reinstalling BF42 + DC and returning this ugly mess faster than you can say Seriously though, this is a bad trend! Developers trying to make sequels are screwing up too frequently for comfort! First HL2 burdens us with Steam, and now this? I wanna BITE somebody! If the team that made DCX for BF42 can make something thats more fun to play than you can, its time to re-examine your production values!!!

If you don't like Battlefield 2 then go and play Joint Operations. It can be bought now for dirt cheap. At the moment I'm enjoying BF2 too much, and care little for co-op and play MP only. This should probably be moved to the Rants and Raves section or something. Battlefield 2 is a great improvement over the original '42, and when the mods start churning out the game will really mature into a quality title. Steam was out long before Half Life 2, and was first released back in September 2003. It was in preparation for HL2 to be released that time too but was put back as we all know. Everyone gives steam too hard a time, its a good system, delivering games directly to you and auto patching them. The only down side is having to pay for previously free games, such as DoD which is completley out of order imo. Considering the number of players Steam has to cope with, and the number of servers it no doubt has to run its understandable. I mean Steam uses more bandwidth than Italy, I think we can let them off every now and then when Steam spits its dummy out and servers crash dont you?

joint ops was a wast of power. if they used a better engen it would have bin good, i tihnk BF2 should take the snaiper rifels tricks from jo an put them in to BF2 so u can get a 1 shoot kill by adjusting the knobs, an if u want co op go play lan an ahve one of ur buddys make a SP game an pass his Ip out as the Lan games IP an u can play with bots.

Well there's a poll running right now on another thread asking if the game is worth it. It's currently running 8:2 in favour of BF2, so it must be doing something right. But did you really buy the game expecting something exactly the same as BF1942 with better graphics? Games evolve and change with sequels, in this case BF2 has evolved towards MP online play only, that's why they release demo's, so ppl can try out the game before buying, and they have said quite clearly a number of time that the SP is only for practice.

In the entire 3 years of playing BF2 I have played co-op maybe a dozen times as against MP online several times a week at least, so I won't miss it much.

You've played BF2 for 3 years? :p @FN_Lewrbm I think when it came out the engine was fantastic, and still in my opinion isn't too bad a looker today. I did like the usage of the sniper rifles in JO, it was a good idea, but it wouldn't work in BF2 with loads of kids thinking they're Vasilli or something. I really did like the Mortar idea in Joint Ops, and something similar should be used in BF2 if mortars are added in future mods or maps or something. BF1942 mortars were rather comical, you've got no idea where the shell is going. Granted if you become good at it, it comes into its own, but JO's mortars were instantly usable, which is what I liked, and sounded ownage too :D /me goes and installs JO again.

I loves my mortars in BFV, I do consider myself one of the best arty/engy that I've played with.^.^. But snipers, I generally use those only in MASSIVE maps or city maps. But yeah, get me an M-46 or mortar, and spot me a target, I will rain down a sheet of fire :P
