Maybe some of you play in Jedi Battle Arena as well, I didn't find many good servers in my lag-free hours (shared connection), there are one or too more, but, what I hate the most is the FF:OFF, seriously, am I the noob for being pwnd so many times by point blank detpacks and mines? if I am using an engineer I have 70% chances of running into another engineer, avoiding his fire, having him almost cornered and then I get pwnd.

If I am using a non-engineer then my chances are 90% of running into a reloading rocketeer and then lag-boom! because he puts a mine or maybe an engineer lacking the skills to handle me POINT BLANK, being a rifleman for example, he would have all advantages, but he can't shoot me, so, he dets me away.

And the worst of all, I am defending, scouting, etc. but I was careless, so an engineer is behind me, what he does? he gets close and dets me, he doesn't even throw the pack, let alone making a point blank perfect shot, NO, he dets me in point blank, WHY!?

On a minor but still pissing situation, most people I play with feel like they are "one man army", it is hard to assist someone from YOUR OWN TEAM who runs away because you are "kill stealing", what? this is no MMORPG, this is a shooter, a team vs team shooter!

With no special rules (like some servers do), a CTF game turns out to be a Team Slayer (at least I like the "Team" part), but conquest becomes "running from CP to CP with not even defending them".

Space battles are out of the question, sometimes I just don't know what's happening when my own team is rocketing and shooting all around the place, in a server with no FF is hard to think they can try to lose on purpose other than destroying fighters.

OK, this was my rant... any comments?

... and that's why I don't play SWBF2 online. Yeah, I feel your pain. I used to play online a lot, but I got sick of it... so I just sit aroung on the FF forums all day. (No, not really). I don't know... try getting a girlfriend or something. They usually screw up your life and then you have other things to focus on and you start to really appreciate SWBF2.

I couldn´t be more agree with these "one man army" thing. People really think they´re in a WOW thing. It´s not like that. That´s why I´ve always liked to play Battlefield 2 online. Once in a while you find a group of people who really know about this team play stuff. But maybe it´s not only the players but the game itself. I don´t know why but there´s something missing there...maybe it´s because of the sides or maybe the heroes. It could even be the maps or the vehiicles but there´s something there that it´s not allowing the players to mae some stategy.

Again sorry about my english; it´s not my mother language.

What they need to know is that they aren't all powerful this is a battlefront meaning your a regular ole trooper shooting up some baddies but most people think they're so good that they are a one man army but they aren't there are a few players out there who are plain amazing but that's just a few and then there's another select few who understand strategy and the "I need backup" commands and such which are very useful if they arent spammed (some people come to a server just to spam it with "I Need Backup!") and then those who know the use of both who are the best players out there. Though in your case neither of you are noobs (unless dets/mines are declared by host not allowed then the detter/miner is the noob) if you can gun him down but him take a last stand with a det/mine.

I think the maine problem online is lag, not noobs or bad players. I don´t know why there´s so much lag out there. I live in Argentina and the internet speed there is not that good as it might be in the USA. But now I´m living for a short time in Germany and the problem is even worst!. I think a lot of people suck at this game online because of the lag.

The reason why there is so much lag is because the average video game player has very little understanding of his/her system specs and does not understand basic video card, ram... I could go on with this. I'll bet you that the average SWBF2 player is playing it on highest graphics with maxed out resolution when they shouldn't be. No madder what, I always play games online at lowest graphics. On SWBF2 I have a ping of 20 on a good server. My video card is about equal to a GeForce 6000 (at most). If everyone lowered their graphics when they played online there would be very little lag.

Why do you continue to post 3 word posts it gets really annoying. That set aside lag is a huge component on who has the advantage over who and players are generally clueless about their computer and the game so they will always set it to high graphics, though I always set my computer to the lowest graphics 50 brightness+contrast and 70 view distance though on certain maps like jabba's palace and some other maps I have to raise my brightness and view distance if I want to know if someone is standing right in front of me because of low visibility. the best solution to lag problems is hosting a server but you have to know how to set it up right so that people will actually join unlike the noob servers with people who don't have a clue on making settings for online games.

You mean like this thing about No Friendly Fire? another thing I don't really know if being convenient is including bots, of course they offer easy frags and keep people active even while there are a few players but, sometimes I don't like them.

And if you play in some servers you will be labeled as a N00b just because you are trying to keep opposing bots off your CPs, because "bots are for n00bs".

But I still hate uber individualism and explosive spammers.

No what does well is the non dedicated servers those are by far the worst servers out there, I always make a regular server. Death star servers called Prison Break generally do well and get lots of players and the rules for it (made by players) can give you an excuse to boot players=p for lag always do CTF never do conquest and no bots, no heroes and friendly fire on lastly set the CTF win limit to 15 so if flaggers come you can boot them and they can't end the game soon. Those settings are really what gets people to join a server, though if you see another server (always non-dedicated the dedicated ones are the horrible ones) that's called prison break don't call it prison break because all the people who join those servers will be there and if no one joins in 10 minutes try a different name and always speak to people who join and boot those who don't.
