Here are some of the pros and cons that make choosing one over the other quite difficult:

PROS: BATTLEFRONT: - X-Wings and other flying vehicles on land maps - Maps like Geonosis - Ep. II Clones - Episode I-II, IV-VI story missions

BATTLEFRONT II: - Space battles - Play as "Heroes" - Enemy Jedi no longer invincible - Heroes and Villains on Tatooine - Ep. III clones

CONS: BATTLEFRONT: - Jedi are almost invincible - No space fights - Campaign is basically Instant-Action without ability to choose a side - Some maps are small, others confusing, others too large, others boring - Play only as Ep. II clones

BATTLEFRONT II: - Time limit for playing as Heroes - No flying vehicles on land maps (excluding Hoth) - Must unlock character classes by scoring points - Play only as Ep. III clones (except on Geonosis)

actually, i dissagree. get the gametoast swbf1 conversion pack and the only thing else that battlefront 2 needs is the crawling from swbf1. once u get that mappack it puts all but 1 of ur swbf1 pros on the swbf2 section, and eliminates 2 of the swbf2 cons :D

Bf1 was more canon than Bf2(limited torpedos TIE fighters have no torpedoes) and had better maps(and prone). So i think bf1 was better

BfI was better simply because of the physics and maps... The did something funny to the BfII physics that made the game easier, and less fun to play.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824 PROS: BATTLEFRONT: - X-Wings and other flying vehicles on land maps
Now this was fun I must admit.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824 - Ep. II Clones - Episode I-II, IV-VI story missions
These were fun to play too, I must admit.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824 BATTLEFRONT II: - Space battles
A brilliant addition to Star Wars Battlefront 2 if I may say so. However, I think it needs a bit of work as it can get pretty tedious after a few hours of playing.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824 - Play as "Heroes"
Whilst fun, I don't really see this as a good addition. I mean, the heroes are way too powerful for their own good and incredibly un-balanced, especially compared to the game AI.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824CONS: BATTLEFRONT: - Jedi are almost invincible
Yes, I agree, they do take alot of work to take down.

Chemical.Reaper;3699824- No space fights

This isn't really a con as such, seeing as it was added into the second game.
- Campaign is basically Instant-Action without ability to choose a side

Again, that's not really a con. It's more of a part of the game that they could have improved on.
- Some maps are small, others confusing, others too large, others boring

But this isn't bad either. It just shows that the game had a nice variety of maps to choose from.
BATTLEFRONT II: Time limit for playing as Heroes

If you weren't given a limit, the game would become boring, because hero's are tougher than the other characters. You would be continually winning.
- No flying vehicles on land maps (excluding Hoth)

I must admit that I do miss playing as flying vehicles on land maps, however, I don't personally feel that it has effected how fun Battlefront 2 is.
- Must unlock character classes by scoring points

That adds fun to the game. You know when you get points, you can use them to get newer things. This is turn will encourage you to win the battle.
