What about that little tube thing that was on the end of the STG44 that the germans used to shoot around corners? It could be coded like a bayonet type weapon. You know,two weapons, one ammo load.

The m2 carbine was used in the battle for Okinawa.I seen a documentary on the history channel that was a 2 parter about Okinawa.It documented the stratagies, vehicles, leaders and weapons used such as the flame thrower tank and the m2 carbine assault rifle.It even showed you footage of Marines using the weapon.
