I heard rumors that fh is going to take out the ambient sounds do to lag!

I think this is a bad move on your part b/c that is what makes the game.

Ww2 was never quiet...

it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to hear battle noises when youre the only person in the area. besides, noises should be made from the other players online without any lag and not from ghosts or whatever

Battlefield 1942 was never designed with any decent sound processing. Its often chokes on its own default sounds and pops and crackles after all this time and patches.

Take them out, I won't miss them and I greatly helps fps on maps that are already pushing the refraction 2 engine with lot of terrain. Look at the FH maps, 100 fold foilage than the stock painted sand fields of DICE maps such as Bocage. You can only ask it to do so much before it breaks.

Yep, if it solves the issue of FR lag i'm all 4 it, but it does make the game more atmospheric, is there not some other way of putting in battlefield sounds?
