Yes some P-80's flew combat air patrols from Italy and a few in England flew IIRC 2 combat air patrols but were soon grounded when one blew up in mid air. It had something to do with a failure of the P-80's really long tail pipe venting super hot exhaust gases into the fuselage. The problem was quickly found, a field modification was made, and all produciton models incorporated the change.

Yeah...actually it was an inadequately designed fuel cap IIRC.

Cool bird though.

DAMMIT!

It doesnt look like the "Spad" made is in BF:Vietnam afterall.

EDIT: But I was just thinking, with a few mods the MiG-17 could be made to look more like the MiG-15, since it was basically a improved version of the MiG-15.

So that means the only aircraft must haves we would need to bribe someone to model would be a P-80, F9F Pantherjet and a F-86.
