...Create custom objects out an .ase model?

You see, I have very limited knowledge of 3D Modeling, (in Gmax) but im a very expierienced Q3 engine mapper and have extencive knowledge of GTKRadiant. So im wondering if I could use GTKRadiant to create an object, (like a building) export it as an .ase model, then convert it into whatever formate BF uses for its models. Can this be done?

I believe its possible to import an ase model into 3dsmax or maybe Milkshape. What formate does BF1942 use?
