Imagine my suprise at seeing an Adak map in the last release. My family was stationed there for 3 years in the 60's so it brought back some old memories. The layout of the island looks pretty acurate from Shagyak and Kuluk bays to the destroyer in Sweeper Cove and the crater of Mt. Moffett. The quonset hut renders were very good, just like the ones we used to play in.
Why did you pick Adak instead of Attu or Kiska where the actual fighting occured? Adak was mainly used as an airstrip for bombing the Japanese held islands and for fleet support.
I do believe the P-47 on this map is historically incorrect. The P-38 would be more acurate or the P-39. Due to the weather, distances and the certainty of death if forced to ditch, multi engined aircraft typically operated in the Aleutians.
Here are some Attu and Kiska resources
I think the planes there are placeholders. They will be substitued by the P-40 squadron "The Aleutian Tigers"... (i hope?). The tanks and planes still have the D-day markings.
Rad wants to make a pack of maps about the Aleutians campaign, I think he was working in Attu also. Soon we will have the Aleutian Tiger P-40 for that map.
