Because 30 cal is a much more common ammo type. And there are lots of 30s in FH, they just look like tiny 50s.

No, there are 30cals and 50cals. On botb, all the american mg's are .50 cal, and 30 cals are easier to find on the other american maps. The models for both are lacking but the 50 is the one that sounds like a messed up buzzsaw when it fires without an ammobox on the left and the 30 is the one with the ammobox on the left. Dc is currently using the .30 cal model as a .50 cal mg.

McGibs i'd love to see both those tank shells and your ammoboxes as objects in fh, but they really shouldnt be over 1,000 polies apiece

The tank shells and 30cal shells are about 150 each. its more the little handlerings on the 30cal boxes.

After I get the peices skinned, I'll optomize it and drop the whole cashe to about 1000 or lower if i can.

So someone else thinks the .50 cal sound is bad

Here's a suggestion to shave some polies, those indentations on the top of the metal ammo boxes should be removed and make it a flat surface, then have the skinner do some work to add that detail in there. I thought the tank shells were pretty cool, but you could make them slightly less round and have a skinner do some work. The best low-poly models are ones that look a lot more detailed then they are, thanks to the skinner. That's what makes Counterstrike so easy to run.

The indentations on the small amoboxes are handels. I'll change them so they dont have rings (that should save about 200 polies per 30cal box)

Since no one wants to unwrap it for me, I'm gunna have to trudge through it myself. If this was anything more complicated then boxes and cilinders, i would have no hope in hell of making a uv map. Heres the tank shells, at about 500 polies for the 3 of em. tankshells.png

EDIT: Theres a few screenies of another model/skin here http://www.helixprime.com/mcgibs/3dstuff/

I like your work a lot McGibs. I haven't got a clue to how much polies are allowed for an ammocrate, but i wouldn't mind at all seeing your ammocrate or tank round models in FH ;)
