Yeh, they arnt very powerful, but theyr fast to aim, have good range, and you get alot of them. Theyr better for taking out thin skins like apcs and trucks.
The American rifle grenades should also have limited anti-tank capabilities also.
...why?
they arnt HEAT grenades, theyr anti personell.
Yes I noticed the Bayonet on the Type 96 but where is the 1.4x scope it was fitted with as standard?
Edit
Doh! Thats a 2.5 x Scope I should say.
The sight on the top of the Arisaka is a neat touch. It was originally intended to be used for anti-aircraft aiming. If you properly set the sights, you could theoretically hit a oncoming aircraft (it would help to have a whole squad doing this). This is perhaps one of the only decent Japanese weapons of the war.

But they could an dwere also used against tanks as a backup.
In the Close Combat games the infantry would shoot rifle grenades at tanks and on occasion take one out or track one.
I do have to admit with the sight and the bayonet, the Arisaka is the coolest looking rifle in the game. Of course, Japanese infantry is still pretty weak because of a lack of decent sidearm. On Wake there's no MP 18 either.

Japanese only made about 10,000 type 100s and had bought about 3,000 Mp 18 and other Bergmann SMGs. Odds were unlikely there were any SMGs used by the Japanese on Wake.

it is more likely that they dump the smger because FH has only 5 spawn kits not 6. more reason to use that 6th slot
