meh...well, its hard to see the trails when your screen is jittering around and your flying at 300mph with a Zero infront and behind you
does that mean that all planes ar shaking when shooting?......
I always loved the shaky effect
yes, all planes shake when fireing.
That's good I suppose. We'll really need to actually try the flight model first before passing judgment on how long it takes to kill bombers. I just think it should take AT LEAST three slashing passes to take a bomber out and that's assuming you're firing and hitting continually.
P.S. you KNOW a lot of people will bitch about the screen shaking...
McGibsLike a said, 5 seconds of hits is really really hard to pull off. count to 5 missasispi. thats a long time. Meanwhile, your fighter is rapidly catching up, his bomber is taking evasive manuvours (possibly you are too, due to possible gunners) you also have to keep your xhairs on him, which is very difficult because sometimes your plane is very sestitive to speed and will bounce around a little. on top of all that, your cockpit is shaking like hell because your shooting all of your guns. A good pass is 1 or 2 seconds (which sometyimes does the trick if you land engine shots). The only way youl land 5 is if he is a totall noob and flying compleatly level.
Remedy: Easy. Just unload cannon fire on the engines. That can screw up a bomber really bad. Edit: Well thats how i took out bombers in CS3.
I think that's obvious, without an engine you don't have a plane..
Shade_PWI'd also like to see the COCKPIT view higher and A BIT closer to the crosshair (not like EOD's Phantom *shrugs*) so I can actually use the cockpit view and not instantly jump to the nose cam.
So, is this fixed in 0.6???
BF does location damage, yes? Well, then the extremes for the damages locations should be increased. Shooting the tail section = tiny bit, almost nothing Shooting the wings = low to medium Shooting engines = high +Possible to kill pilots
'[CNIOhioan']It takes one tap of the mouse to destroy a B25 (in a FW190). Less then a second's worth of fire and the bomber is dead, which is very far from realism.
Is the bomber armor dramatically more in .6? I'm thinking, around 10x more then it is now...
Not if you hit it in the engine or a wing root. The FW190 (as did most mid and late war WW2 planes)an armamnent of cannons firing explosive or very high impact solid shells. Hitting a B25 in the engine with a couple of rounds from there Mk108 guns will rip them apart. Hitting the B25 in the body will damage it but direct engine hits will really screw a plane up. You gotta remember in Allied planes flew (especially in the western front) in huge formations with escort fighters for protection but thats not going to happen in FH/BF but if you want realism your single B25 is an fairly easy target for a single fighter. IRL you'd be lucky if the turret gunner got a few good hits on the FW which is a tough plane and has plenty of power plant armour. Not to mention the radial engines of the A and F series which are harder to knock out.
