Recently, I've noticed how the tank treads are the weakest point on the tank and easily destroy just about any tank. But, I question the historical accuracy of tanks blowing up when shot in treads. I personally think that a tank should have seperate damage for the treads and once the treads on either side are destroyed it becomes immobile to being able to move, but it would still be able to fire at that place. Although once it couldn't move it'd be a sitting target. Please give feedback, no flames I'm just a guy who hates being blown up by a tread shot in the tiger :D.

This isn't a flame but we've talked about this numerous times already.

Its an SDK moment. Sorry :(

Perhaps if the lads went Soldner with the mod it might be so. I know they have the ability to blow off individual parts in the latest diaries on their site. New vehicles are specced in mere XML format too.

It's no problem, just use the search option sometimes. The other threads have suggested what you wanted. Tanks to be immobilized instead of going Ka-Boom when hit by a tank-round or an AT projectile. But like the above poster said, without an SDK...

Soldner will be sweet, maybe the FH guys should leave BF for Soldner... seems like it'd be sweet with a WW2 realism mod :).

They would just have to make all new maps, get new coders, modify all their models and skins, and remake everything that came with reg bf...

Me is thinking of a towed artillery where the truck is the tracks and the artillery piece is the hull. So, when the "truck" (tracks) is destroyed, the "artillery piece" (hull) is left down unable to move.

Now, I'm not saying this haven't been discussed before, nor that this is even possible to do (I'm no coder so I wouldn't know), all I'm saying is that far too often does the SDK get the blame for something modders just haven't been able to figure out yet. SDK is the easy way, all you got to do is to figure out the hard way... So don't be too rush in blaming the SDK. If you don't know how to do it, it doesn't mean that it's impossible.

True Bishop, but I presume you need patience to do that sort of thing, and I think the devs are busy with 0.6 at the moment

But IIRC the towed artillery in FH is not 2 separate vehicles, and if you destroy one the other blows up too. At least that was the situation a while back, not sure if it has been developed any further. Harry
