Why is the IS-2 on karelia ? The IS-2 was not used before 1944 and the battle on karelia should be between 1939 and 1940. So no IS-2 if i'm not wrong.

The map is not for the Winter War...it is for the Continuation war, and it is 1944 when the finns were being pushed back by the soviets despite their stubborn resistance.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

The battle of Karelia shown in FH is not part of the Winter War(thus the lack of snow), rather it is the Continuation War with Finland fighting against Russia on Germany's side. The map takes place in June/July 1944.
EDIT: Too late at replying I guess.

Considering Finland fought three major wars within five years I suppose it could get confusing ;)
Aside from everything else, the IS2 ruins Kariela. I mean, why would the Soviets waste their best (and very low-produced) tank on the Finns? Kariela used to be the best map, too.

Not only that. In one game I managed to capture a deserted IS2 on Karelia(driver must have been shot while outside) and turned it against the russians.
I think I needn´t say what happened then.
It's not that hard to hide from a tank... The finns at that point in the war had Panzerfaust 30 and Faustpatrone from Germany.
I ignore the tank and go after the infantry. As soon as the tank appears there are usually several people that spawn engie or AT to take it out. Just gotta try to be out of the frontal arc of the IS-2.
i think the russies used IS 2 in finland not sur thought ..
