Two advices, Omni. Always make the wrecked model after mesh the main model, then you can use that mesh. And optimize the model to make it real low poli, the Dauntless wrecked has 500, use MultiRes because the mesh is not ruined.
Ow! I've forgotten about that:( Now i have to mesh all my wrecks :'(
BTW. All my wrecks are under 1000 polys, just as Lude said. I also don't use Multires much cos it usually screws my models up:uhm:

Yes, don't use MultiRes to the main models, but for the wrecked is even better to screw a little bit the model.
