I'm working on texturing right now, and i'm having difficulty in finding a good picture of the shingle and sea wall and how the terrain looks between there and the cliffs.

Would be most helpful if you can find some color photographs, i'm doing the area between D1 and D3 (WN 70) so any other information you have for these places would be great :)

Maybe these links are of a bit help:

http://www.6juin1944.com/espace/omaha/index.php3

http://www.rotzkotzen.com/beachsquad/pics.htm

http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/reference/normandy/Pictures.htm

I would suggest give the map a dark color to increase the atmosphere!

In DoD the dog1 map was the best regarding that, strand_v1 and Beachhead_b1 were also nice, but all omaha maps in Day of Defeat are too small due to technical reasons. Please check here:

Raven26Dod screens?

Yes, Dod screens!

I posted them to show the dark enviroment, which I mentioned.

The Omaha Beach map in Vanilla BF is rather disappointing. Too bright!

The upper 3 links do not show DoD screens, but real pictures of Omaha Beach, some of the colored.

Great stuff guys. I have that crosssection of the beach, that's what I was basing most of my object placing for the beach on.

Working on the sky right now with terragen, the maps already ingame with a low res version of the textre i'm going to use. Hope to get you guys some shots of it soonish :)

Try not to get a "under the bunker" when making this map like the vannila bf version has...

Thanks for never fixing that ea/dice! :furious:
