The Halo based Homefront mod just put up some really slick screenies of thier new snow effects. I'd really like to see some environmental effects in FH in the near future, it would add a hellof a lot to the atmosphear.

Just something to keep in mind :p

i agree about the weather effects, I hope eventually theyll add that in. Though, i dont like that snow too much, i liked the rain better. maybe FH could bum action mod's WeatherFX... oh please, oh please, oh please!

Check this out as well. Not just battle of the bugle also kharkov winter would have snowy conditions. Why our so many other mods getting such nice effects and pilotless planes? THats ok i still love FH. But BG 0.9 i will download! One new concept that Battlegroup42 .9 will feature is Automated Planes. These planes will be without real pilots (virtual pilots essentially) which fly over the battlefield. Currently only on Operation Mercury, every few minutes a squadron of Ju-52's will pass over. Automated Ju-52's are what you might call "ambient objects" due to the fact that you won't be able to directly interact with them although it is possible (but difficult) to shoot them down. Automated Planes are one of the many additions you can expect from Battlegroup42 .9

ooOOoo... that would be nice...

Then they could concentrate some maps being specificly ground battle, with large bombers overhead carpet bombing the area (being as you cant really carpet bomb in FH)

It could also open up possiblilites for Bomber escort missions, where the players can only fly fighters, and make sure the bombers dont get intercepted.

But that snow effect looks a bit shitty, imo.

nobody in his right mind would try and fight under that conditions...

and the pilotless planes might be the first step to a guidiance system other than playerguided, would be cool for Desert Combat...

I like the fighter support idea for automated bombers, very good idea, the bombers could just fly around the map (hopefully in a random pattern each time) and the fighters would have to stop them being shot down, the other team of course would have to try and shoot them down.

Won't weather cause Lag? or is it one of those magic effects that doesn't cause any system lag?
