silent assassinok Im not sure if its just me or do the levels load really so , and after a round on a server y, you know how it says like please wait in yellow in front of the score board i takes forever i havent tried every level but it loads slow on most ! And i have i another Q if you are banned from a server will it say your banned or somthing elsoe because if seen wolf not full with like 10 spots left and it wont connect me ? 3rd Q where is the polish smg , b/c i have played fall of weiss or whatever and its not there ?
My machine occasionally outright freezes when the level switches. Also, many times the servers will die when switching levels. I don't know why this happens, but I can usually get a console and type "quit" to get out of it. Sometimes it freezes the keyboard and power button though.. which is bad.
my comp is quite the same as captainsayno and it takes me the whole loading theme plus some extra seconds, but thats just as annoying as the fun a map bring u, so i dont care ;)
well it is reassuring that im not the only one
Just try defragmenting the HD. Should improve.
I don't think that's just it. I think that with all the stuff in these maps, FH is really pushing the envelope of the BF engine. It's just not really optimized to handle as much stuff as FH puts in and it results in pretty laggy gameplay or really low framerates in certain circumstances. I rarely had problems like this with 0.5 but it seems that 0.6x is considerably more polygon intensive so you end up with some serious framerate issues and lag issues. I'm hoping they'll optimize things. I mean, I love the detail and all, but geez. Sometimes this is just ridiculous.
Guess I'll have to turn down my detail settings some too. Still, doesn't seem right that I should have to with an Athlon XP 2400, 768mb DDR Ram, and an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro with 128 mb.
I too have terrible loading times, they seem like forever, probably 60-90 seconds. Worse than with 0.5, and that's saying something. AthlonXp1.5Ghz 512Mb Pc2100 DDR 64Mb GeforceTi4200 5 Year old keyboard covered in cigarette burns and full of breadcrumbs...
my goal right now is to have a load time under three minutes and maybe around 30 seconds....i'm gonna be getting some more ram soon to stop a lot of the system lag as well as try overclocking my cpu a bit
Personally i think the amount of RAM you have makes a lot of difference in load times, with 512MB of RAM, i take at least 1 min to load up a map, normal BF takes ard 25 secs.
My load times can be very (10-20sec) short or very long (1min+) depending on the map and I have a good system. System: Proc: 3.06 @ 3.2GHZ Mem: 1GIG PC3200 Graphics: 9800xt 2x80GB Raid 0(8mb cache 7200rpm) Windows XP Home So it real depends on which map you are playing for how long the load times will be and the more objects in a level the more precache must be done or you will lag more ingame. So you can have faster load times and more lag in game or slower load times and less lag in game take you pick.
Well there is an amazing amount of stuff in the maps so even my CPu has a 40sec or so load time. 3.0Ghz P4 Asus P4g800 1 gig 3200 DDR 150gig hardrive Radian 9800 AIW
