hi i know ppl might say post this in help and support but no one seems to read that. anyway heres my problem. i downloaded the trailer from fileplanet successfully and tried to play it but it didn't work. i've tried it on Divx, realplayer, quicktime and windows media player and none of them work. i do notice its a .rar file and haven't come accross this before what do i need to do to view it? pls don't deprive me from gettin a glimpse of that oh so sweet 0.6.
Eh, you need WinRAR to unpack the movie. ? Edit: BTW, for another time, a simple search for rar on :google: came up with the link to rarlabs.com
rar is a packet like zip, you just need winrar to unpack it :p
I'm shocked at the amount of people that don't know what a rar is...
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure why it was distributed as a rar.....compressing a compressed video file won't make much difference.....
yup, only for that 1 meg wasn't very effective :p

to preserve file integrity.
In the event of not knowing a file extension there are 2 things to do:
1. PANIC!!! SPAM THE FORUM!!!! AAAAH
2. Go to www.google.com and type in "rar". Then hit search. You'll find something like this: "WinRAR provides the full RAR and ZIP file support, can decompress CAB, GZIP, ACE and other archive formats. ... Welcome to RARLAB, home of WinRAR and RAR archivers. ... Beschrijving: A support site for RAR and WinRAR archivers. www.rarlab.com"
Better luck next time ;)

How would it be preserved? A rar file will just not unpack if its corrupted.

Me too. I thought that was as basic as it gets...
The video won't play, even with divx, xvid, nimo etc installed. Even tried on a fresh XP install and still nothing. (Can you say pissed off ?)
Any suggestions ?
