Ever since I have installed Battlefield Vietnam on my computer, Battlefield 1942 is so laggy I can not do anything. I can barely play singleplayer, and I can't get into multiplayer at all. My comp is mostly empty so I dont know what is causing the lag. my friend has nearly identical specs and his runs fine. Here are my specs: Op. System: XP 2470 Mhz Genuine Intel Pentium 4 304 MB of free memory 512 MB of total memory Direct X 8.1 55634 MB of Drive Space I have no clue what is wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that might cause this? Thanks to any one who does and posts it.

Go onto Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete, at the top go onto Processors. Make sure that u cannot see bfvietnam.exe, make sure its not there. If it is click on it and then go on End Process. This should help significantly, i have this problem, and i have to do this whenever the disc is in the CD/DVD drive while i boot up my comp.

Don't know. What kind of vid card are you using? Try getting latest drivers and update your DX to 9.0b.

You can get it at www.microsoft.com. Search for Direct X in the search box under the downloads section.

Battlefield Vietnam is a rather large program and mostlikely took up alot of Random-Access Memory (RAM). Please inform me how much RAM your computer holds... also what percentage is your PCU usage? You can find this out by veiwing the Task Manager and looking under the Performance tab. Another possibility is your Multiport Dynamic Random Access Memory (MPDRAM) or Video Random-Access Memory (VRAM) is insufficiant. If you Graphics Controller is insufficient your games won't run smoothly. I'm running two sticks of Gateway's 512 MB PC3200 DDR 400 Mhz Module RAM. My Graphics Card is the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB. My Battlefield 1942/Vietnam runs fine at the Highest Video and Audio performance for the game. This Application will Install DirectX 9b on your Computer.
